It’s not man, look where Targett and Murphy are.

I am! Murphy is only dropping deep in possession. It's like a reverse of our usual back 4 where the left back becomes a LCB in build up and the right back plays right wing.

ffs

Our first game is against these, good to keep Emery guessing and not use whatever he is going to use in that match that actually matters. And Paul Dummett is playing.

ffs? Was just a question man

Dummett really is shit, mind. It's fucking ridiculous he's still on the books as a player

Don't even see the point in giving him game time in pre season tbh.

Dives in far to quickly for CM. Done it twice already and one resulted in the first goal.

It’s a preseason game and only his second appearance for us you plum

You could say that about a fair few, in truth.

I know FFP is a thing but it would genuinely cost a combined £15m (gross) to upgrade about 5 of them.

Doesn't make what I said untrue. He's got to learn and luckily has a few more games before the season starts to do so. Calm yourself man.

Early thoughts.

- Not convinced Isak was offside when he ran through.

- Love Anderson, but I worry his finishing is what stops him being relied upon this season.

- Bold to try a new formation against a side as well drilled as Villa.

- First 20 has suited Villa because they've been able to hit on the break. I'm still curious to see how they handle teams that come and bunker in.
