Forgot the game was today. Good to see nobody is over reacting on the basis of a meaningless friendly.

Neither side was our best side at any point.  Our best side at the minute is

GK: Either, don't know.  I think Pope

LB: Sir Matt Of Targett

RB: Based on today I don't know as Trippier was terrible but clearly Trippier

LCB: Botman

RCB: Schar

DM: Bruno

CM: Longstaff

CM: Joe

RW: Not Clear all shit so far

LW: ASM

ST: Wilson

Back 4 is excellent, mid we could improve but probably good enough for now.  We need 2 attackers though.

We'll finish midtable if we don't sign anyone though. 12th-8th.

The result wasn't important, it was the same failings by the same players which underlined how they aren't good enough to be relied on this season. Some of them are just bad footballers, lose the ball under the slightest pressure, and run into defenders like lemmings.

I'm backing the lad to be a success here but talk of moving Maxi to another position to accommodate and starting him seems a bit premature at the minute like.

theres absolutely no shame in 8th to 12th imho, I’d take that , a comfortable season is all I want , keep building I say.

Given how strongly he came back in at the end of last season, I think Wilson has looked at bit subdued in these two games.

He's playing in Mickey Mouse lineups that give everyone a game, but it hasn't stopped Bruno looking class or Joelinton rushing about like a mad bastard.

I'm a big Wilson fan, so I hope and indeed expect there is more to come. Though there has been lots of focus on injuries, it would be good to have a backup just for any potential loss of form.

Just one season where we're not shitting our pants thinking we're going to be relegated would be a start.

Are we saying Adam isn’t a top shagger then?

there was a lad at school who was a "sock shagger" - no one i know has rubbed themselves up against a footie top though. well, maybe the 1996 one.

Wilson and Joelinton had decent efforts. Shelvey skied one under no pressure & Anderson made himself a half decent opening for a long range effort but straight at the keeper and lacked power.

Off the top of my head.

Two big chances for Wood in the first half and Murphy's fluffed effort from Krafth's cross in the second.

We should've won really.

It was absolutely nothing to feel overly worried about. We started with a lot of pace and intensity and looked pretty good before tiring against good opposition who played with a low block. It was hot conditions after a gruelling week, and we struggled to break them down at times. Even the winner itself was dubious and I don't think anyone would've begrudged us a draw. Most of our better players looked pretty sharp (Bruno, Botman, Schar, Joelinton particularly) whilst a few of our weaker players had stinkers (Wood, Fraser and Murphy). The rest was a bit of a mixed bag.
