ffs I was fancying Leicester away. Doesn't seem a good pick for telly anyway.

Needed to be two teams not in Europe due to the following midweek being CL/EL

What's the best "tactical masterclass" game you've ever seen from a Newcastle manager?

Howe Vs Tottenham last season, Anderson as a left wingback cross CM.

I might be misremembering how the game actually went. But after getting loads of stick for how negative he was v City and other big teams. Rafa when we beat them 2-1. Rondon and Ritchie stands out.

For games I was at. Swansea away under Pardew I remember as a reasonably comfortable 2-0. Where they had all the ball. But we had Cisse in his ‘everything I hit goes in’ phase and we were well drilled and they didn’t create much. Despite about 75% possession.

I was absolutely wankered, mind. So might be totally wrong there

Recency bias. As I’ve forgotten so many, I’m sure. But the second leg v Arsenal and Spurs at home last season.

I remember Keegan catching a good few out with his sort of 4-3-1-2 towards the end of his first season under Ashley. 4-1 away at Spurs standing out in my mind.

Not even Eddie Howe - “Howe” according to Hodor Hurst. He’s itching to express his inner Tory and sack the man in charge.

My Benitez one would have been the 2-1 win against Man City

A good shout and one that did enter my mind but the Huddersfield game that season, given the scale of importance of it, edges it for me. We were in total control of the game despite only having 23% of the ball if that makes sense. Totally stifled them. Getting 7 points from Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading all away in a week was superb that season.

Howe's got a few, the Spurs game at home last season a shout. Arsenal away when we got a 0-0 draw wasn't exactly a masterclass as we didn't win the game but the way he adjusted how we were set up after we were getting overrun in the first 15-20 minutes to hardly conceding even a half chance for the rest of the game was impressive. The Arsenal home cup game this season too. Remember reading through an analysis at the time of when we beat Chelsea 1-0 just before the World Cup break at SJP and a subtle but clear when you notice it tactic was baiting Chelsea's midfielders into the middle to allow a spare man in the space behind. Can't remember the exact details but shit like that I find proper interesting.

When we win:

'Let's talk about Sandro Tonali then

'Aye he's just pure class'

'And what about Lewis Hall?'

'He just oozes class'

And that's about as deep as they go, especially the two biggest idiots on there Charlotte and Norman.
