A kind of Yorkshire cricket flashback. If we said living memory/for me about 35 years! then you'd probably have to have the following slotted into some kind of formation: Beardsley, Waddle, Gascoigne, Shearer, Watson, Clark (L), Elliot, Howey, Venison, Thomson, Amoebi (Sh), Wharton, Taylor (S), Dummett, Carroll, Carr (K). Not just his finishing, he'd gone from being quite strong to being incredibly weak, slow, awful first touch. Was like a different player in all the wrong ways. Not saying he would've continued being as outrageous as his first half season, but I'm confident he'd have looked nowhere near as bad if he wasn't shunted to the wing. The first goal in that match is always overlooked (understandably) but it was a fabulous effort in its own right. Neesy's bang on like, that period straight after he joined was absurd.
