Imagine you're seeing someone for a bit, then you start hearing from your mates she's been seen out with some rich nob, the sort of wanker who makes pissy comments at homeless people, and it turns out she's started seeing him behind your back.

You're outraged, she says she's going to leave you for him, you have an angry break up, block her on social media, don't respond when she wants to come and pick up her beekeeping costume (turns out she's a keen apiarist in this analogy).

Yeah it's good you're not going to waste too much time on her. Yeah the rich nob and her deserve each other. Yeah you get your favourite CDs back.

Still, doesn't mean you should necessarily be happy about the whole thing. I mean, now you've got the hassle of going out on the pull again when you've got a Netflix boxset you'd much rather be getting on with. And besides, you're still using CDs. Who does that?

I think that's more or less Unbelievable's point.

Yeah, but I think most people are probably thinking something like; yeah she was good, but she’s gone. On reflection she’s used to make a really annoying noise when eating, she didn’t like your best mate all that much and she barely gave blow jobs. Yeah it’s going to be a tough few weeks and maybe a bit lonely. But we will get over her. And imagine how good that first time you pull a random bird is going to be when she does some absolute filth move you’ve only seen on pornhub  before.

then at some stage we are going to fall in love again and have the dopamine rush of a lifetime.

its fucking football, it’s transient as fuck. Yeah it’s sad we have lost a respected dan ashworth early on, but the guy also thought Gary Neville was the next Svengali of football management.

dry our eyes and move on, let’s not turn this into a pity fest. We have owners who want to be the best. We are not going to settle for the fat middle aged bird with 6 kids and a milky eye on a hen do from Sunderland.

The current bonus is manure fans have gone into meltdown desperately trying to ignore the fact they can’t afford to pay the market rate to release a guy they desperately need. The glazers are playing 5d chess with them and laughing all the way to the bank while ratty is going to be the fall guy.

I don't think his wages impact FFP so I'm all for letting him stay on Gardening Leave. It annoys Radcliffe as well which is even better.

Oh, she is cruel and heartless
To pack me for Gordon
Just cos he's better looking than me
Just cos he's cool and trendy

But I know he's a moron
Gordon is a moron
Gordon is a moron
Gordon is a moron

There was a very subtle dig at him from (or via) George Caulkin on the latest podcast, suggested that he didn't have as much input on first team matters as the owners had expected/hoped and that the new "Sporting Director" would be much more focussed on the first team rather than an all-encompassing role.

It had been reported that negotiations with both Bruno and Joelinton had stalled until Staveley etc. got involved. It was also telling that Staveley seemed to be leading the Gordon negotiation despite clearly being in the middle of something else, wasn't she negotiating from the back of a car on that Amazon Doc?

The owners didn’t realise that they’re just spokes in Ashworth‘s wheel.  Not everyone can see his vision.

some people can’t see the wheel for the spokes. No wonder the blokes desperate to leave.

  • 3 weeks later...

Wonder where we are at with this now? If it’s true arbitration was starting at end of May it should be wrapping up soon?

The penny does seem to be dropping with Man Utd fans online about INEOS after this shambles with ETH

@Froggy will double down on his defense, then in a couple of years tell us he clocked him from the start.

Once Omar, Dan and Jase are working together then INEOS won't be making these decisions. One more summer of turmoil, then Man United are back baby.

Absolutely. @Froggy and Brexit Jim are the Man Utd equivalent of Bein Jacobs and Todd Boehly.

That sounds like a lot of egos fighting for dominance

With their mate Gaz Southgate at the wheel. Lovely.

It’s brilliant that they’ve went out to get all the best people to run the show and the best they can come up with for the managers job is to appoint Brailsford’s and Ashworth’s mate whose only club role saw him get Boro relegated.

To be fair you could say that Howe's only (substantial) club role saw him get Bournemouth relegated.

Not slating Howe or defending Southgate, but throwing that over thing at him that happened 15 years ago when he was in his 30s probably isn't terribly relevant.
