wyn davies Posted Tuesday at 10:07 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:07 Still think regardless of how well he did at weekend , he and the other keepers including Dubs who I think has been screwed will move on in summer, for other keepers maybe Kelleher and Trafford
Lush Vlad Posted Tuesday at 10:07 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:07 Watched the highlights from the official site and I'd half forgotten about that cruncher he put in on Diaz when he fairly won the ball. I know it was offside, but when Diaz went through, I thought it was going to be Pope getting sent off against Liverpool..... again! Fair play to him, as he had another one in a similar position where he headed it clear and he kept coming for set pieces into the box and all. You'll never get them all right, but I'd still rather have a keeper doing that regularly and getting caught out now and then whilst being super aggressive. Than whatever the opposite is. Someone like De Gea, I guess?

I was really keen on him when Alisson was out injured. Then I think in both games against us he has been poor and a bit shaky. 2 goals at SJP he should do better with, the last one being an absolute howler. Lucky to get away with the offside goal at Wembley. Tin hat on....... But Alisson/a keeper with better anticipation saves Burn's header. I know it's in the corner, but it has travelled a long way and it isn't like he's totally unsighted or anything. Thanks Slot. Glad you played him on Sunday

mattypnufc Posted Tuesday at 10:19 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:19 Arguably his best kicking performance for us too. Not a single one shanked out of play.

I didn't mean I don't think Pope and/or Dubs will be moved on and we get a new number one. I just mean I don't think I would want us to sign Kelleher. Think he’s a good shot stopper and good with his feet but would prefer someone more commanding in his box Trafford on the other hand… Edited Tuesday at 10:41 by Danh1

But 'Flapper Trafford' and how he looked in the prem have me a bit concerned. Been brilliant this season by all accounts and on the numbers, of course. Lush Vlad Posted Tuesday at 11:23 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:23 There’s doubling down when you’ve been proven wrong and then there’s whatever the fuck this is I was wrong with my comments and views after the Brentford 4-2 loss. But surely you can’t still be thinking Howe isn’t the man for the job after the turnaround in form and then after a cup win?!

Trafford is probably a couple of years away from being one of the best imo.

And then, to actually win it, to be set up properly not just tactically but mentally with the occasion, the opponents and the ghosts of the past. You are welcome to your opinions of course, but I don't think that any manager who has just done what he has - lifted the curse, changed the mentality and just beaten one of the best teams in the world right now despite no reinforcements should ever be in any doubt. Him and his team have just broken through a wall I never thought I'd see be broken. I'm not even sure what to expect next because I still can't comprehend it. But I cannot think of a single manager that I would prefer to him and I think he'll carry on proving everyone wrong. He's Newcastle through and through now and I'll be on his journey and love every minute of that rollercoaster. But aye, on topic, Pope was immense and that save tilted it our way just as much as Dan Burn's colossal header. Which are both right up there with anything I've ever seen in terms of a memory that will never leave. Edited Tuesday at 13:01 by Abacus
