Depay? Pjanic?

That's assuming it's an attacking player ofcourse, could easily be on of 20 odd players. Vague as vague can be.

I would say either Dest or Depay (before we decided to go for Isak as I cannot see both coming) if that is true.

Should have left his tweet as he has no idea

Watching Edwards flail about this window like a fish out of water ha been one of the best unintended consequences of the takeover. Hopefully he’ll fuck off the NUFC beat and become womens football correspondent for The Guardian.

I think we are in for a more defensive midfielder though…

Hope so. Alvarez from Ajax would be perfect but probably out of our price range if we're forking out £60m for Isak and ~£30m on Pedro.

I wouldn’t have a clue who he is, but I think Howe wants Bruno to be more offensive and Joelinton to be kind of similar to how he has been for us, a destroyer, but somoene he can rotate positionally left, centre or right or even up front. We need a specialised DCM and I’ve been saying it for a while.

Oh God hell aye. Is Gallagher a CM? I thought he was a number 10 type player?

Judging from his performance against Leeds he is much better as an 8 or 10. He's not a 6 I wouldn't say. But in all honesty if we're getting a midfield player as well as Pedro (who can play 10) it needs to be a deeper Shelvey/Bruno position player. If Bruno gets injured before Shelvery comes back we are seriously lacking in that area.

Fully agree. Just that Alvarez fits that bill perfectly. I wanted us to get Kamara before Villa got him for the same reason.

Just recall Hayden from Norwich.

Longstaff can fill in. I think he can pretty much cover all CM positions adequately.

So why is the only bid for an actual midfielder, been for an attacking one in Maddison?

We put that bid in before Shelvey got injured and he’s a right sided attacking midfielder which for all we know, we may still be after that type of player. A manager can change his thoughts around tactics, style of play and what’s the best system going forward you know…
