Us flying in third and having a genuine shout is a situation worth adapting to? Not gonna complain either way as they have a plan and it’s worked so far. The above tweet also reflects that - statements like “no interest in the likes of Aston Villa or Newcastle” - the sooner we stop getting grouped with them then the easier to get targets over the line, CL will do that and they’ll be well aware of there things. For example they may want Maddison in the summer for a knock down price, but if he suddenly became available now, they'd try and tie it up. I think we'll recruit this month, but I don't think we'll go mad. At a guess, a first team midfielder and a couple of unproven young lads to cover full back and the forward positions. We exceeded expectations pre WC due to tremendous work ethic, team spirit and execution of incredibly meticulous tactical plan and credit to the lads and coaches. I think it’d be a missed opportunity to not shore up our current position as the rest of the top 7 will undoubtedly do so and have done so. The FFP thing is real, but there’s no way the PIF and ownership team can’t line up related party sponsors and/or legit 3rd party ones that won’t offset those in due course.
