I think he's probably the best right sided left foot option for us due to his versatility, as he can play up front, right side, behind the striker and as a number 8. Palhinha is an absolutely phenomenal tackler and defensive player. Really good in the air too. He is really quite poor or the ball though imo. I don't think he would suit our style much at all. JP Posted May 23, 2023 Share Posted May 23, 2023 As a few have said i think 5-6 first team quality would be a great summer. RCB, LB, CM x2, RW and then a versatile attacking player. In this case, Schar, Burn, Willock, Longstaff, Miggy and 1 other becoming your 'squad' players isn't half bad considering they all just played a huge part in finishing top 4. Not necessarily either: Aguerd went for 35m, Tchouameni for 80m, Onana for 35m, Paqueta for 40 odd etc. Not cheap. Yeah, they’re fair but I wouldn’t say they were cheap. Arguably our 2 biggest bargains/ success stories in Bruno and Botman came from there so it’s a market I’d love for us to keep tapping. You can’t bank on getting players like that for 40m. This is what I was thinking as well. Not sure it's that easy to pick up genuine quality anywhere, everyone seems to be after the same players. Just got to look at the fees being quoted for Szoboszlai, a player I'd never heard of prior to last week. He’s a worse version of Maxi; the guy’s defensive contribution is absolutely zero and has less vision. Only advantages are his age, ability to play on the right and he’s less injury-prone.
