We'll have already done our scouting, interesting to see if we think he's done enough in England as well to suggest he's capable. Wouldn't be against it. Didn’t help him looking poor against us mind. Murphy caused him problems.
oldtype
Just a random hypothetical, but I wonder what we'd do if say, Real Madrid came in and offered 100m for Bruno this summer. Obviously we have more financial freedom than a place like Napoli so I imagine we'd resist initially, but ultimately hard to say no if the price is high and the player wants to go. That's part of the risk of being an up-and-coming team right? Established teams coming in over the top and breaking up your core.

I'm sure Bruno would be very keen on Madrid in general, but he's only had one full season here and loves it here so I'm pretty sure he'd be able to resist for the short-term especially as we're in the CL. bowlingcrofty
Madrid is probably the only club where I’d be certain he’d want to go to. I think we’d take the £100m.

They already have younger better midfielders signed and will if anyone only add Bellingham in next 12 months.

Madrid and 100m are just random examples, could replace them with City/PSG/Bayern and whatever number. Point I was trying to make is that we probably aren't completely immune to what Napoli is likely to go through this summer. There are going to be clubs that are dream clubs for our players and numbers at which we have to consider selling due to FFP considerations if nothing else. It's a challenge any up-and-coming club is bound to face at some point. I trust the people in charge to handle it though.

I would show him videos of Cabaye who I equate him to. Was a cut above anything we had, loved by the fans and media and then left to follow his dream at PSG. However one season later he was replaced, loaned to Crystal Palace and a Saudi team after that. Sometimes you follow your heart and not your head but if he goes there he is going to have to replace the legends of Modric, Kroos etc in midfield. And we know their fans are not patient or forgiven Edited May 24, 2023 by RobsonsWonderland

HaydnNUFC
Bruno is great and that's been shown by how vitally important he is for us. Our record without him starting in all competitions is P10 W1 D5 L4. 0.66pts per game if solely league matches. With him starting in all competitions is P33 W23 D9 L4. 2.13 points per game if solely league matches. We have not won a league game in which he hasn't started. That 1 win in any competition in which he didn't start was Tranmere (a). I love Joe Willock to bits and he has had a great season and will only get better, Longstaff has been vital to us this season and Joelinton is fantastic at what he does, but for him to dominate more matches more often especially away from home against good sides he needs at least 1 better midfield partner. He's fantastic but he can't do it all by himself. No one can.

Great is not exactly a term for the cream of the crop though, Yes he's not like a Modric level midfielder (yet), but he's right up there. Think great describes him perfectly. Bruno isn't only great he's very special in his vision, range of passing and passion for the game. I dont know many CM I would rank above him based on this seasons performance De Bruyne aside. To answer the previous point made here..it wont be a matter of the bid and the money being good for us, it will ultimately come down to Bruno and his wife and what he wants to do. We can match wages at this point. We can turn down big transfer offers for players who are invested in the club and want to be here. He's the heartbeat of our team. I'd be gutted if we lost Bruno so soon. I was just watching his introductory press conference (and Howe's) and I think he's someone to build around. We dont need the money. If he wants to go thats fine but I really doubt Madrid want him more than we do. I also really doubt he wants to be at Madrid more than he wants to be here.
