Just realised Lowes quitting coincided with the start of the free stream on nufc.co.uk

Maybe this is the reason it was so suddenly announced - he didn't want to sign whatever long term contract was involved?

Lowes contract is with the BBC not Nufc.

But the BBC are providing the service which NUFC are broadcasting - so there will be a contract with stipulations about personnel, etc.

Just speculating anyway.

Not sure the club would have wheeled him out on the pitch ahead of the Blackburn game if he was leaving because of the BBC contract with the club.
