Depressing listening to coaches like this when we’re currently stuck with Bruce and his crew.

Ah god that's depressing and inspiring at the same time.

Surely they’ve just got to go back to basics, put it right on the training pitch and go again? Dust wa sels down, take it on the chin and give 110% next game?

Idiots.

The club will not tolerate any of its players or staff behaving in a manner which puts themselves, their colleagues, and members of the general public at risk of injury or worse, or which brings the club into disrepute

Especially if the said player is at the end end of his career

If he's a young lad with a sell on value then that's a different matter altogether though

Think it’s more to do with the fact that as a result of the stupidity, he’s unable to do his job and what he’s paid to do, whereas the others are still doing what they’re paid to.

The problem with that logic is that it makes it ok to drink and drive as long as you don't get injured. They did this purely to save money.

It wasn't even Keogh who was drinking and driving either

I bet there’s some small print in players’ contracts where if a player is injured and not fit to play due to something like this, the clubs have an out-clause. There’s been plenty instances of footballers drink/driving and not being injured so still able to work so to speak (Rooney, Firmino, Yaya Toure...). They were fined, banned from driving and playing shortly after. The same seems to be the case with Lawrence and the other guy, Keogh is the unfortunate one who’s been injured long term as a result. Whether he was at the wheel or not the club could argue he knew he’ was getting in the car with people over the limit and of the risks involved.

You also don't know what other discipline issues have gone on previously.  The guy was club captain and didn't do anything to stop what went on which is pretty shocking imo.

Not really sure what the issue is. If they want to terminate his contract they are entitled to, if they don't want to terminate the contract of the others then they shouldn't be obligated to do so simply because they are getting rid of Keogh.

its the bald face hypocrisy that irritates me, sure if you want to get rid of him no problem but be consistent get rid of the guys who actually did the drink driving as well but they might be worth money to derby so slap on the wrist carry on playing.
