Thought we were miles off it and completely lacked intensity, looked like we expected an easier game than we got.

Maybe some of the players got comfy after a relatively easy opening match against Forest? I also felt we should have been able to up our tempo a bit to match Brightons pressing better. They were first to nearly every second ball.

Think it's important not to overreact or be too upset. Brighton are a good side, it was 31 degree heat, and we're the long distance travelling away side.

Everything Howe wants them to do was still there I think, just far too many players not able to get anything right whatsoever. Lots of missed challenges, sloppy giveaways and general poor passing broke down the structure of our game and we never really got going. Despite that we've took a clean sheet and a point.

The main thing is how clearly we need at least 2 attacking reinforcements.

Yup. Easy to get lost in a crap performance but it's not like we've not played well against better sides under Howe. The XI today is much more capable than they showed.

Not a good one, sometimes it happens.

It wasn't a terrible performance by any means, we just looked half a second off the pace throughout most of it and uncoordinated going forward. Cross everything that it's just a poxy day at the office and not a sign of things to come.

Brighton are so well drilled, like - well 6 have definitely had a good season if we finish above them. They move the ball so well and are absolute fuckers out of possession.

We looked absolutely shattered like

Pressing a team like Brighton is hard though as they're so good on the ball, a great performance today was a long shot like.

But we didn’t press them.We stood off.Big Joe is our only real pressing midfield player.

Really important that we are becoming a team that can still pick up a point when we haven't played well.

Really glad for Botman getting a clean sheet first time out. Big props to Nick Pope as well for getting us the point today.

No goals conceded first two games and 4 points on the board. Decent.

Will take that all day long. Don't want to be too harsh on the players because I didn't think Brighton were any good either and it looked like all of the players were suffering with the heat and agitated.

Pope - 8.5

Trippier - 5.5

Schar - 7

Botman - 7

Burn - 8

Bruno - 5.5

Joelinton - 5.5

Willock - 5.5

ASM - 5

Wilson - 4

Almiron - 6.5

Really surprised to see Wilson with a 4, don't think he was the worst of our players by any means at all.

Just checking, third, home win away draw against a good side?
mustn't grumble. Simmer doon fannies.

No-one should be panicking, but the position in the table after some teams have played only once is utterly irrelevant

Murphy is utter utter dog turd and should be nowhere near this squad, no idea what Howe sees in him.

If we're still bringing Murphy and Wood off the bench to try and change games by the end of January, we won't be finishing top 8.

Pope man of the match, shortly followed by Joelinton for me, then Miggy.

Fairly poor game on our behalf, but shows the importance of discipline, rigidity, understanding the system, intensity, everything we didn't have with Bruce. Would have lost 3 or 4 nil today under Bruce.

Both teams lacking quality in the final third, think the heat played its part too.

All in all, a great result, another clean sheet, one of our top 10 difficult fixtures done for the season and unbeaten. Free punch at City now.

On a serious note, I legitimately think the kits played a massive part in that, there where multiple occasion where both sides played it to the other team, at the start of the second half a Brighton player player a through ball to Trippier for instance.
