Do many players leave Brighton and go on to better things? Serious question. They seem hyped in their moneyball strategy but other than Caicedo and even he was a slow burn, who’s gone on to great heights after being sold for a huge fee? Mac Allister was sold under market value.

Bissouma and Gilmour and Ferguson are a few examples of those that have flopped or declined

Bobby Zamora had a decent career.

Zero chance we’re paying that sort of money for a back up.  Haven’t seen a more obvious non-starter yet.

It's just a really lazy story, as someone already said, only chance of this happening would be if Isak was sold, which isn't happening for another season earliest.

Btw why would Pedro be so expensive given his days are obviously numbered at Brighton.

They’re going to push for the most they can get, but if it is a case that they genuinely want shot, it’s probably a position they can be negotiated down from.

Given the situation I wouldn't be looking to pay much more than what they did.

Not that I think he's a target of ours.

I wouldn’t mind paying more than they did, as he’s more proven than he was back then.

Double, or thereabouts, would seem very steep though.

Aye definitely, total load of bollocks.  BHA would want a fortune to sell.

They want rid of him.

Don't think he's particularly effective wide so unless we are changing system he isn't ideal fit for us at any rate.

How many players are actually effective wide and up front? I think lots of players get described with this dual ability but in reality they are usually just good at one or the other.

Not many but prioritising a 10/9 when we have isak doesn't make sense for us in this PSR world.

Agreed.  Or there are big drawbacks.

Emery used Rashford as a 9 and it seemed to work well. But I think that was to mitigate his poor work rate on the flanks.

I can’t think of manny attacking players that are genuinely great across the front line. Raphinha was great at RW for Leeds but found his groove at LW for Barca. But that’s a Lamine Yamal thing.

They do have a gang of 10s. If I was them I would still want double what they paid though.  Or close.

Sell JP - Rutter main 10.  Gruda as backup.  March and Minteh on the right.  The lad at Leicester still doesn’t have a squad number with that.

I know they ended up worth crazy depth.  But Villa’s 4231 reduced the running on a lot of their players.  Maybe we move to a style more like that. That requires at least 1 genuine 10 if not 2.

Agree with the 4231, particular switching to it in obvious passy situations like goal kicks where we're not going to be able to catch teams on the counter.

I really like Pedro and he strengthens the squad but for that sort of money he isn’t playing ahead of Isak. First signings should be RW and CB if they’re doing the transformative signings they were talking about.
