Brighton denied it because at the point he let out his catchphrase nothing had been agreed between Chelsea and Brighton. Chelsea upped their offer by 10m which got the deal agreed.

There is zero chance  Brighton would've released their statement if at that point in time the deal had been agreed.

I'd imagine there's even less chance of Chelsea upping their offer by £10million, if they'd agreed a fee. But we did force an extra £2million out of West Ham for Dyer.

What was the first game he attended out of interest?

I get the feeling he's only ever turned up at games against the top clubs. We've put in some spirited performances but never rally matched them. Sunday's game might have demonstrated that we're improving faster than anticipated. Might have encouraged him about his investment.

Can't see us signing Isak and Pedro unless Wood is off.

I think the plan for Wood has always been as a sub to either get a goal, hold the ball up or help defend

I won't pretend I have watched them enough to say they would fit in.  But I reckon you could get 2 of Isak, Pedro and Wilson into the front three.

Wilson is always injured, Almiron is still to contribute goals and assists and we currently have a seemingly half fit Fraser and Murphy as the next off the bench to play out wide.  The more the merrier with the attacking players.

That is a bit cruel, even worse if he has to mope his way to Everton instead. I'm rooting for the lad he still ends up here.

I really rate Pedro and think he has a high ceiling fwiw. I’d ideally take Isak + Pedro and 1 other.

Not his best position according to Watford fans

Ok. Played most of his matches as a centre forward according to Transfermarkt though. So I think it's fair to say he's a striker.

Possibly just semantics, but I get the impression he is a forward.  Not just a striker or number 9 in the same way Wilson is, or Wood is supposed to be.

That was how it was explained to me by my Watford supporting mate, who is also a scout and a bit of a tactics, analysis nerd.
