He's knows absolutely nothing.

Was he fucking breathing into the mic again? He's disgusting

Luckily his mic was really low and you could barely hear him speak the entire time.  Everyone in the comments was complaining about it but I was just relieved I couldn't hear his horrible grunting and breathing for once [emoji38]

If we were ever going to sell him this window it would have needed to be early and an offer we couldn’t possibly turn down, e.g. £200m

Isak and other clubs have precisely zero negotiating cards. If he wants to come back with his tail between his legs, he can but he doesn’t deserve any love from the fans

Deserving or not, and let’s face it, we don’t know the full details, fact is he will/could get all the love he has had and more. We are a forgiving bunch—fans in general not just ‘us’—a well worded heart-felt interview a performance which shows he is working his bollocks off, a goal or an assist or a mazy Evertonesque run. Even the most hurt of us would welcome him back with open arms.

It’s hard sitting with the uncertainty, the sense of rejection and betrayal seeming to ‘down tools’ triggers, but we can and will do it. If the outcome is right.

Sounded good until that last line. Is he referring to the ownership having the final say?

Puts pressure on them though, Jamie Reuben must be involved.

I really think we just need to sell and move on. It’s clear he’s not going to be here long term, whether we can squeeze one more year out of him or not, and keeping him just pushes the can down the road until next summer (which is when we all probably expected him to leave). We can’t possibly go through all of this again next summer.

Obviously try to get as much for him as possible, aim for £135m (or something like that £120m + Harvey Elliot), and just move on to the next chapter in our development.

I’m not convinced that keeping him at this stage leads to any real positive outcome.

And replace him with who?

If we bring a replacement in first and sell on our terms (straight cash no Elliott) then we do the deal. Personally still wouldn’t sell to Liverpool.

Wissa + another… ideally Sesko.

I’d even probably take two “stop gap” strikers for a year if necessary. If Sesko doesn’t happen, its pointless spending big money on any lesser targets for now. Just get some capable bodies in for the time being (in the Wissa ability and price range) and find our long term Isak replacement in January or next summer if necessary.

I just don’t see the point in keeping him around now. If he’s made it clear he wants to leave, and his agent is going to play silly buggers until he does, we’re just prolonging the inevitable.

I agree unless he comes out signs a new contract like MGW it’s going to be almost counter productive keeping him but we can’t weaken our squad significantly more than we already have. If we can’t get Sesko, isak just can’t go

Take a cut price so a Liverpool stiff can warm our bench :anguish:

Elliot is a good player in a position we need more depth in.

I really think we’re deluded if we think anyone in world football will pay £150m for Isak (I’d love to be proved wrong though).

It’s Liverpool or no one by the looks of it. I agree, ideally we have a replacement (or at least one of them) in before sanctioning anything, but I’ve made peace now that he’s likely leaving, and likely joining Liverpool. I’d rather it just happened quickly so we can all move on.

More than happy for Isak to sit in our reserves until next summer personally. I wouldn't sell to Liverpool period rewarding the blatant attempts at unsettling our players 2 summers in a row isn't it my MO.

As for Elliot, he's a mid player cartel cast off who will end up turning in 6/10 performances for Fulham.

What?!

We won’t get more than that, and I really think we’re deluded if we think we’re going to get more. The player is essentially on strike.

This situation is paralysing the club. Just rip the fucking band aid off and move on. £135m is a realistic figure (ideally more but unlikely).

Problem is if we sell Isak and don't properly replace him this summer then we are basically writing our season off. I agree that we need to sell him as I think the way he has gone about this has been disgraceful and he has shown the club zero respect at all but if we aren't able to get Sesko then I don't think we can let Isak leave. Our squad is already way off where it needs to be for the coming season and letting Isak go for a stop gap signing would make us even weaker.
