Oh come on. There’s always shit takes  after bad results but Jesus Christ.

The guy literally dragged our summer through the mud and takes his portion of blame for the turmoil and the over the barrel position we found ourselves in. The club could have handled it better and been more realistic in what was likely but saying Isak has no blame is wild.

Wasn't massively different to what Wissa did with Brentford really, other than I think he still trained with the squad?

Not really sure what point you’re making and I’m not being a dick here?

Is it that it hasn’t affected Brentford? Because if so Isak is literally a world class striker and Wissa is arguably one of the worst forward purchases I’ve seen for us and we’ve had some proper duds. The significance each had to their respective clubs is vast.

Isak is a World Class striker based on what exactly? Look at his record at Liverpool and look at his record before he signed for Newcastle. Actually throw in his International record of 16 goals in 56 Sweden appearances.

What is your definition of World Class here?

Not being a dick here.

Oh but the Toon finally won something and the winning goalscorer fucked off like a little gimp and I think folk are adding in his nationality to their abuse and that's falling into question.:lol:

Top few strikers in the world is my definition of world class, and he was, at least for the best part of 2 seasons.

I think it's pretty uncontroversial to refer to Iask as world class whilst he played for us.

I suspect, and hope, it was a case of right time right place with us and that he never reaches those heights again.

Never reached World Class level at Sociedad either. 33 goals in 105 games is reasonable for a centre forward, but no better than that. 2 in 10 for Liverpool and 16 in 56 for Sweden. 3 excellent seasons with us (when he was fit and available) doesn't make him a "world class" striker in my book. It's an over used phrase these days imo.

Tbf, one of his seasons at Real Sociedad I think was at least close to world class, especially given his age. 17 goals in a season as a 21 year old in la liga is pretty exceptional.

Shows how underwhelming the rest of his time must have been then. He's a streaky player in my opinion. Can look good for weeks on end, then shite for weeks on end, then injured for weeks on end...

Suppose it depends on your definition of "World Class". Not for me.

That season at Sociedad he was in a totally shit team attacking wise and he was relied on to do everything himself.
