Alexander Isak: has a chance to play against Everton (Howe)

Nunez scuffs chances that Liverpool put on a plate for him. In another Prem team he's barely a 1 in 4 striker. I will genuinely be outraged if they get their money back from him from a Saudi team.

I don’t think we can keep him without CL football and we’ll use the money for a massive rebuild. If we get CL he stays I’m sure maybe even signing a new contract.

The caveat being if we get Europa league and he’s happy enough to stay plus we hold firm on a high valuation that then prices most teams out and he’s sold the following summer with two years left in his contract and a cheaper fee for those wishing to buy (or we get champs league following season and he stays).

There’s absolutely no way we should sell him this summer with his contract being so long - CL or not.

Edit: now realise that’s kind of what you said

2 years left I’d say it’s a given he goes if we didn’t get CL, 3 years not so sure as we’ve both said

He has great movement and box instincts. Tall, fast, decent in the air. Can strike off both feet. And most impressively he doesn’t shrink when he misses.

He rushes his shooting too much and is off the cuff with his finishing.  The best finishers have stock finishes and a high level of composure for the impromptu finish. Isak has both but is weakest when he does an impromptu finish when a stock finish is better suited. Nunez has neither. But this can improve with experience and confidence.

Nunez is like Dembele to me. Got a lot of tools to be a great player but it hasn’t come together.  Dembele put it together at 27.  Nicholas Jackson is similar. There’s a lot to like imo.

Nunez is a non-starter, Liverpool rejected a £70m bid for him last month, so they would expect that sort of value in any deal. IMO he is worth around half that, he’s a player with some good raw attributes but that needs a lot of work, and he’s not a kid anymore.

I think Nunez is actually a really good player, but not a consistent goalscorer.  Fast, strong when he's not diving, plays off both feet, bit of skill.

It's just when he gets near the box, he almost always has a rush of blood to the head and misses so many good chances.  He's also constantly offside.  Not ideal traits for a striker

Aye he's like a race horse - go, go, go.

That can be improved though.

He's never had a great run of form at Liverpool. He's one of those where one day it could just click. Or he moves clubs, is a bit more confident and composed with less pressure

He seems the sort that needs a run of games and to be relied upon as the main man, which will help settle him down as far as the snatching at chances goes.

His finishing and goal record at Benfica was too good to be written off completely.

He was putting away the types of chances we've seen him spurn so often at Liverpool. Don't think being in and out of the team so often helps.

He scored two great finishes against us last season, so I don't really buy this he can't finish angle. I think he'll come good, and I agree, a run of games will help.

All this talk of Nunez being shite is convenient when we are playing them twice very soon. Talk about tempting fate.

Personally I think he's very dangerous.

He’s a 1 in 10 striker, very wild. I’d agree he's equally dangerous.

He is a bit of a donkey but he always has a knack of being dangerous against us.

To me he's a confidence striker and atm he's none. The lad creates an insane amount of chances so he gets in the positions.  I like Nunez - when you watch him he doesn't half graft. He just needs to leave Liverpool to somewhere where he'll play regularly under a manager who believes in him. Not saying I'd swap him for Isak mind - that's just laughable.

He was also way out performing his xg which does raise eyebrows. When someone does that, you want to see another season to see what the mean is, instead of jumping the gun and thinking it's a Messi type player that's got to be snapped up before others come.

I like Nunez or, rather, I like what he could be. If he can get it together in front of goal he’d be one of the most coveted strikers in the world.

That being said it’s lot of “ifs” and “could bes” with him. Isak is a sure thing and there’s no way I’d want to lose him unless it’s for insane money (I’m taking 150m plus) and him pushing for a move.

Agree. If he wasn't so erratic in front of the goal then he'd be the striker I thought we were getting with Haaland. Chaos and physicality, rather than just a (very effective) poacher.
