That was with regards to the Ekitike bid, and a short comment about Liverpools interest. They can’t just ignore it.

Wasn't a short comment mate, Sky were the ones pushing the £120m, i'm sat watching it.

People can accuse others of being "bedwetters" or whatever but out of two scenarios; A) we're bidding for Ekitike as a contingency should Isak leave or B) were paying £75m+ out of our limited budget for a rotation option / Howe is suddenly going to change system and play two upfront.

I think it's perfectly logical for people to think A is more plausible.

Bollocks for this year anyway

Liverpool fans online convinced Isak wants to leave and will absolutely 100% say yes if asked is doing my head in.

Honestly best ignore it like it doesn’t exist

They are doing this to stop us getting Ekitike.

Bingo

Yeah I think this seems quite plausible tbh. With the added bonus of potentially unsettling the player.

I completely agree, but keeping him against his will and pricing him out of what he could see as a dream move isn't going to do us any favours at all

Come on man, his dream move isn't Liverpool. He'll go to whichever club is in the Champions League, pays him the most and ends up paying us the most. It doesn't matter who it is.

Isak is our only striker. We need 2 if he leaves. Ekitike is unproven in EPL so he is a risk and we are not going to a season him as the only recognized forward.

I didn't want to do this...

Do well in the CL and if he really wants to move he could be Lewandowskis replacement at Barca in future.

There won't be a lot of money in the market, but this is very clearly not a non story when there's always shrewdies about with more information than the average punter betting on the right side of it. Not saying it guarantees anything, just pointing out it's hardly bedwetting to have concern about something happening that the bookies have priced up as a coinflip (Liverpool now 4/6 and us 6/5).

If there’s one market where ‘shrewdies’ don’t exist, it’s player transfer markets (and next manager markets).

Not sure if it's been said but surely our play is to drag "negotiations" out with Liverpool for Isak, while we wrap up Ekitike, then tell Liverpool he's not for sale?

We're kind of in the perfect position right now.

Liverpool need a striker but they need to shift players to fund it. So far Nunez hasn't looked like going to Saudi and it appears the Napoli move has fallen through with them going for cheaper options in Lucca. Diaz move has also yet to come through. The tragedy around Jota, as awful as it is to say, has added to this.

I think they want Ekitike personally but don't currently have the freedom in the market to move unless they were to take risks on selling after they've already bought. This seems to be a bit of a power play against us - I'd be amazed if they actually went up to what we'd ask for (£150 million+).

We'll see. Honestly I think whatever happens we're in a pretty strong position. Unfortunately a big sale is definitely coming down the track at some point.

Seems to me that he might have come back from the break and suggested he wants to move on, and we've now made our move for Ekitike. I don't see how we could possibly afford to keep all of our star players and sign Ekitike and Trafford and a starting centre back

Explain the 55 million pound bid for Jao Pedro before Isak returned then? Our bid for Ektike was just 13 mill more than that.
