And what possible use does that serve?

being petty and vindictive.

The concept of being a doormat doesn't appeal to me. If we're not getting the absolute top dollar imaginable, given the prices others go for, and anyone thinks agitating for a move for half price is going to work they need to be ... corrected

Worst thing about all this I feel like our incoming business is going to be on hold even more that it already is.

Fair point. We've obviously still got money to spend regardless so something can happen, but you'd imagine targets would change with more money in the bank.

100% - and the whole ‘£150m+ or fuck off’ position is now completely meaningless if true

We’ll do well to get £130m, unless a KSA club comes in

He won't go to Saudi, not at the peak of his career.

Surprised no one else has picked up on this. For all everyone's reporting of him 'exploring' a move away, Ornstein has outright said he wants to leave

Ornstein info is just from likes of Hope, so it’s just him using more inflammatory terminology to gain the traction to his article.

Hear me out. Let's sort out our depth in one fell swoop.

Chabaloah, Tosin
Andrey Santos
Nkunku

+ 63M

Get back what we paid, plus four decent backup

Tosin can fuck off along with Joao Pedro and Neckitike.

It's the same thing, Ornstein just isn't sugarcoating.

Fair enough :)

Won’t happen of course - the club will need the money

This is now officially more concerning than when my lass and her gym instructor went to a Zumba expo at the NEC and then she came home that evening with carpet burns on her knees and elbows

Remember it being a thing (didn't Ashley get Carroll to do that ?). Didnt know if it still existed due to players getting everything.

So:

No, players do not automatically lose 10% of their transfer fee if they submit a transfer request. While a transfer request can lead to the loss of certain contractual bonuses like loyalty bonuses or signing-on fees, it doesn't directly reduce the transfer fee itself. The player's agent may also have clauses in their contract that could affect the transfer fee, but this is separate from the club's actions regarding the player's request.

Transfer Requests and Contractual Bonuses:

Transfer requests can void clauses in a player's contract related to loyalty bonuses or signing-on fees, which are often paid out over the course of the contract.

Negotiated Fees:

Players can negotiate additional compensation, such as a sell-on fee percentage, where they or their agent receive a portion of the transfer fee if they are sold.

No Direct Loss of Transfer Fee:

A transfer request does not mean the player automatically loses a percentage of the transfer fee. The fee is negotiated between the selling and buying clubs.

Potential for Negotiation:

Clubs and players can negotiate terms of a transfer, including the transfer fee, as long as it's within legal frameworks.

That £63m would vanish into the wages for those players pretty quickly like

Football fans are so shit.

A man scores the winner to get the club its first piece of silverware for 70 years. Because he wants to join a club that regularly wins trophies, you want someone to elbow him?

I agree with TCD tbh.  Keane on Haaland is the way to go.

Had a second thought, might be it’s better to keep him at all cost and tell him he will only get his move next summer, no matter what. We need time to find a replacement, and we might have a better shot for top 5 finish by doing so.

selling him now and trying to bring a new ST within such a short period usually won’t end well. Panic buy.

even if we can only get much less next season, just keep him
