The Prophet
The money we get for him could be transformational, but selling him to a "big six" club would go against any stated ambitions. Edited July 24, 2025 by The Prophet

But we were discussing how much it had to do with Elanga's salary, which is nothing. If I’m a top performer at work. And someone I know has joined my company and is earning similar to me - when I know I’m far superior - I’m livid. We overplayed our hand with the 3 years left. If he stays I’m certain he gets a new contract. If he goes we’ve got 1 month to use the money. It’s been handled awfully. As has most things recently. Will put on in a great position to build the squad(if we can get any fucking transfers done that is). Minimum £140-150m though. Bruno won’t have him near the team now, no chance. Greedy fucker. bobbydazzla
I’ve often thought we’d be a stepping stone for Isak on his journey to a top club like Barca or Real or Bayern He seems the least emotionally invested and most transient of our top players But I also thought that he’d be respectful about the situation and we’d part on terms that worked for NUFC and for him. It’d be amicable given what both parties have done for each other Whereas right now he’s creating the impression of being a selfish mercenary cunt (*if he has actually downed tools) Edited July 24, 2025 by bobbydazzla

We do know he's been told on multiple occasions he is getting a new deal, only for the club to not offer him one. To be honest, even this he has done in a way that hasn't entirely fucked us. He hasn't let it be known he wants to join Liverpool, which would hurt/killed our negotiation stance, just that he wants to explore a move. He’s very obviously lining up a move to Liverpool. The “exploring options” bullshit is just to deflect any idea that he has been tapped up.

We don’t know what’s gone on behind the scenes in terms of negotiations over the offer but ultimately he doesn’t want to play for us despite us making it into the CL and without there being any major suitors other than Liverpool in the picture with three years left on his contract. Makes me feel sick Interesting that he wasn't agitating for a move after we finished 7th and broadly had little to look forward to the following season. Fast forward a year and we've won a cup and qualified for CL, making him a club legend and NOW he wants to leave? I'm pretty shocked by it (assuming it goes that way, not jumping the gun). He never seemed the type to try something like this. Partly I blame the lickspittle so-called journalists doing the filthy ESL wanks' bidding like Romano, unsettling him and there wasn't even any type of formal bid. If he ends up at that club of cunts, we might as well wave the white flag.

ExiledGeordie
He was going to go next summer but the way this has come about now off the back of a quite frankly embarrassing window so far is a real kick in the nuts.
