Just get the move done this week please, can't be having this shit dragging out.

Just to think last week we thought Etikite and Isak would be a forward lineup. Instead it's going to be Liverpool's. Nightmare scenarios can come true

Don't sell him under any circumstances. There's still 2 years to get a fee for him.

Genuine question but I'll ask you the same, how do you handle him then being incredibly unhappy? Squad unity is everything to us

Never got the impression Isak loved the club tbh. Didn't stop me loving him ofcourse.

Could just be how cool he acts, but just never came off as him being full committed to the project. Not like alot of the other players. Probably similar to how I feel about Gordon.

Depends who can pay for him and who he wants.

I couldnt stand to see him in Liverpool shirt either btw, but its a big possibility.

He has 3 years on his contract and therefore 2 years to get a good fee for him. Other clubs do it, so should we.

FWIW I’d hold on to him for now if only because it makes no sense to make such a monumental decision while the club’s executive team is in transition. We may not get the best deal, we may struggle to find a replacement, and it’s not the best way to start off a relationship with the incoming staff to sell our best player without their input.

He seems like the type to understand this if it’s explained to him and we let him know we plan to sell him next year. It’s not like he’s going to refuse to play in the freaking champions league because we didn’t sell him to Liverpool.

I think our assumption about him has been totally off. This is literally the first sign of interest in him and boom he's ready to leave. I don't think he will understand anything but who cares, he signed a contract so it's tough shit.

Howe will undoubtedly want rid now, holding on screws everyone over. It’s done assuming a reasonable offer.

The last thing we want to do at the minute is keep an unhappy player around (if thats the way its going to be).

As annoyed as I am at Isak for the way he has and is going about this, the club need to foot A LOT of the blame for this.

Absolutely horrific transfer window

Stalling on Isak's new contract and not getting it sorted

Bidding for Ekitike and Liverpool land him

Liverpool now looking likely to have him AND Isak

There needs to be some very serious questions asked behind the scenes, and I am including Howe in that. We look absolutely Championship in the way we have been in the transfer market in recent windows and for all the noise about progression, a project, more trophies, etc... our actions really, really do not match that.

I just feel this outgoing transfer alone, could see us drop a few places, even more so when the likes of Villa, Palace, Bournemouth, Brighton all seem to be improving all the time.

What more does he want? If it's just money (and likely is) then it's a sad, sad world we're living in. I'd get it if we had missed out on CL football or something.

Then as much as I love him, if it's to Liverpool, frankly he's an idiot.

I'm not convinced Howe would be up for doing that.

Hope his career goes like the last want away striker who went to Liverpool

I can't be mad at Isak whatsoever tbh. Yeah it sucks that he's not bleeding black and white, but that's never gonna be the case for most players that come in. Bruno is an exception to that rule, for example.

Isak has given us a fuck load of amazing memories, the cup win the standout. So he'll always go down as a club legend, no mistake. But we as a club need to tell Liverpool to fuck clean off, and get Isak out of the league. Show some bollocks, don't get walked over.

i don’t think this is correct now; he has undermined Howe and the board. He has to go and we re invest, unless there is one hell of a grovel

Financially we don't have to. This is where PIFs balls come into it. Tell him to honour his contract or he dosnt play. Simple. If he goes to Liverpool we've been bent over.

Tbh if we had gotten 4-5 players in early doors, the ambition would have been enough to make him stay

Right now he is doubting just as much as we all are

Maybe but we don’t know that yet. It may have always been 300k or nothing.

Sorry like but absolutely nobody would stay with their current employer if they were being offered double the money elsewhere. Not a chance.

He rejected our contract offer according to some reports. This isn't a money issue. He wants out.

Still no idea what Howe meant when he said he expected him on this tour last week like - he must have obviously known he wants away.

That's why we would need to know if he refused to travel or the club told him to stay away.

So I think some of my caution is baked into this right here.

We've watched Chelsea sell themselves a hotel. We watched Liverpool flog two midfielders to Saudi for 50m the other summer. I don't see those levers as being accessible to this football club, including new sponsors.

It was a carry on to get one Saudi investor as a sponsor, even though the likes of Man Utd struck a deal with a Saudi company and Arsenal had Visit Rwanda on their arm. When I try to evaluate the routes to glory here, I see us getting trapped in a cyclical routine whereby we find someone like Isak or Bruno and are then forced to sell them to the same teams we aspire to be next to. When we try to maximise other revenue streams (often via routes other teams have used) we are told that it needs to be ratified by the league, or that there's an emergency meeting to discuss whether it's legal.

No amount of good planning or shrewd thinking gets you over that wall. One might even argue that Isak came to us because he saw it as a stepping stone to something more, and how on earth do you break that way of thinking?

They have to figure out those levers off the pitch at some point.

If that means eventually taking the Premier League to court like Man City have then so be it.

For the meantime all eyes are on what comes of the ongoing case Man City have, and so we'll see how that one plays out.

That's a mad double autocorrect, picturing an eBay listing with the main photo being Isak throwing signs after his Spurs goal

Yahoo, i love this autocorrect on my new Samsung.
