GallowgatePigeon
There is absolutely no way he can play for us again now, he's crossed the rubicon. I loved the guy, he's the best player I've ever seen adorn our colours but as soon as you've publicly declare that you want to leave and undermine the club/manager in doing so, there's no way back. No matter who they are, the message needs to be clear that no one player is bigger than the club.

The last thing a club aiming to be number 1 does, is sell their best assets to the club that's currently number 1 in the division we share with them. Him being Ryan Fraser'd is still 1000x more desirable than selling him to fucking Liverpool

If it's just money (and likely is) then it's a sad, sad world we're living in. I'd get it if we had missed out on CL football or something. Absolutely nowt wrong with him wanting to play for a bigger club than NUFC But there’s a correct way to conduct yourself as a contracted player before you get that move And based on an assumption that he’s downed tools, then he’s conducting himself like a cunt Edited July 24, 2025 by bobbydazzla

Clever ploy to hang Isak out to dry and show everyone in the footballing world what a snidey, no-good-for-nothing, back-stabbing, putrid piece of shit he is. Yeah it sucks that he's not bleeding black and white, but that's never gonna be the case for most players that come in. Bruno is an exception to that rule, for example. Isak has given us a fuck load of amazing memories, the cup win the standout. So he'll always go down as a club legend, no mistake. But we as a club need to tell Liverpool to fuck clean off, and get Isak out of the league. Show some bollocks, don't get walked over. Sorta agree. I'm annoyed at the very few at the top of the club for allowing it to get to this stage. On top of the absolute joke this summer has been thus far makes it even worse. However, him refusing to go to preseason games is fucking rat behaviour.
1881
Perhaps should offer Barcelona, Madrid loan with mandatory purchase by end of next June (assuming cannot afford now) which will mean we are covered PSR wise and can spend the money. Whatever, if we are selling then we should refuse to do so until we have a replacement (in addition to Wissa) securely lined up

I'm not convinced Howe would be up for doing that. Who's the idiot? Isak or Howe FWIW I dont think Howe will care where he goes nearly as much as we do. He has two options in front of him. Manage an unhappy player who could suck the joy out of a hugely cohesive squad with great moral, or lose him and have a wedge to re invest. You cannot convince me as he lands in Asia he doesnt want the later. One other factor, which I dont think Ive seen mentioned is Howe and Richard hughes (Their sporting director) worked together for years and years, I wouldnt be shocked if this move and the call last week doesnt have Howe's blessing

Yeah, if he is flat out refusing to take part (which it really looks like he is) then that's properly shit, can only logic it away by him not wanting to take a chance of injuring himself before a big move. Which turns my stomach to type . Honestly, losing Carroll the way we did has numbed me forevermore

He rejected 200k/wk if those same reports are accurate. He'll get 300k easy elsewhere, and is likely worth it. That's £5.2m a year difference. It could well be the money, along with the higher likelihood to win things.
