But the rumours today are he won't entertain a new contract from us. That's getting people's backs up

No, he didn't want to entertain the contract we offered, which was below his expectations.

Feel like people have thin skin on this. Over in the land of the free it’s exceptionally common for athletes to be pretty brazen in their attempts to get more money. I think Isak wants what’s best for Isak, and that could still well be NUFC, as long as we’re willing to pay him the no doubt astronomical salary he wants. I don’t think this is a “Isak ONLY wanted Liverpool” situation, I think it’s just him looking out for number one.

Personally I'd rather not let the morals in the land of the free to set the standard.

Even if he wants to leave and we don't get an acceptable offer in, I have 0 concern that Isak won't give his all for us this season. Go drown yourself Luke.

that’s nice and all, but the reality is you’re already there.

Don't think this is a risk aswell. He will be professional and not damage his career.

But letting him stay when Eddie just said that he only wants to sign people who are desperate to sign for us is some weird optics.

personally I just don’t believe / listen to a single thing that comes out until it’s 100% nailed on. Everything is gamesmanship/ bullshitters/agents/ internet. The world is bollocks.

I'm getting Andy Cole vibes of misery when he went AWOL before the Wimbledon game.

Thought keegan had sorted it, only for him to be sold the following season.

Probably best to let him go then have any negativity spread across the team

We signed a decent replacement in Sir Les back then. Can only hope we do likewise this time.

That's it. Just hold on until September, knowing he has three years to go. We have the power.

He'll still have massive value next year, he'll remain professional + it gives us time to think.

I just don't think I trust anybody at the club beyond the training pitch.

it sucks that he effectively can force a move against our will. Because if we turned down all offers and said "no you are staying". He could phone in his performances and absolutely tank his sale value and I am sure the club know they just cannot afford to lose so much potential asset value.
It effectively makes contracts pointless in a lot of ways. I never thought he would force a move this summer, it's pretty douche move from him.

Wonder how Ekitike is gonna feel, sat on the bench all year.

there’s not a chance he’s going to Saudi Arabia

£200m on £300k with a 3-season loan back to Newcastle covering 50% of the wage. Would love it if we just blatantly took the piss.
