When i think about this situation, I keep coming back to the same thought, which im sure im not alone in thinking...

It's all well and good people saying "its ok, let's just reinvest in the squad", but as it stands weve got money to spend and dont have a fucking clue how to do it.

The club aren't going to change strategy when selling Isak, it will be more of the same. The only difference is that we will need 5 players in four weeks, instead of 4.

If you cant get Wissa and Trafford over the line, what chance have you got replacing Isak? None.

A nice hot take.

I think George Caulkin's piece does us a disservice as a fan base. It reaffirms this notion that we're emotionally over-invested and can't think rationally. We haven't expected Isak to stay here forever, nor do we think he's wrong for wanting more money. We're disappointed he's downed tools, weakening the club's position while being annoyed at the club for not handling this more efficiently.

Feel like I've been a bit spoiled by getting more into NFL the past few years and the general loyalty star players have to their teams there (unless their team are absolute arse year after year).

Salary cap plays a big role in that.

It would send a clear message too, that’s to our players that want to throw their toys out of the pram and to tapping up cunt clubs.

We can send it in the right way as well. Ok we'll sell you but in our time, and at our price.

No one is indispensable, but we can't be seen to be weak when we have the richest owners in the world.

and the draft, as mad as it is, does at least try to give underperforming teams that flopped a chance to strengthen, or trade top picks for more strength etc.

of course I don't think parity in the PL is the name of the game in the first place. Maybe invert the league payout table idk

plays a much bigger role than the draft too.

Diaz to Bayern, then those scumbags will bid, I can literally hear Isak now, I'm so pleased to be here this is my dream club, fucking arsehole.

We're thick if we give them and him what they want, playing into the whole psr game.

If Diaz goes to Bayern, I can see them trying for Gordon too.

I for one hopes he stays by some miracle - because at the end of the day we'll not see the likes of him again at the club for a long time.

I'm at peace with him going now. It will be a blow to lose one of our truly world class players, but if we can get the deal done quickly and replace with a couple of exciting striker options like Wissa and Sesko, I will come to terms with it.

But has to be on our terms otherwise he stays until next season whether he likes it or not.

Yeah, but I know from my own experience how being burgled can sour your relationship with a place, whether that is rational or not.

His own words in May: “The attack on my home has left me with a sense of unease and I fear it could reoccur.”

Moving to the North West is the worst place for footballers being burgled.

I like MLB where you draft a player and he doesn’t come into the team for 5-7 years

Some do, but the gap between college/hs and the farm is crazy.
