£130m plus some clauses & he doesn't go to Liverpool, let's get on with it.

We'll be sound with Osula and Neave up front all season and it'll create PSR headroom for us to not use next summer.

Maybe it's 17D chess and it's what PIF know will be accepted as FMV.

Well if its reported Liverpool value him at £120m, then £130m is a good starting point for PIF Al-Hilal to enter the bidding, then see if anyone else matches or goes higher. PL cant argue its not FMV then, surely.

Someones gotta kick this auction off.

Probably why Romano has been pushing the "he only wants Liverpool" narrative, to drive down the price

If that is the case that should in theory just strengthen our position. You only want Liverpool yeah? Cool, they pay through the fucking nose then, see if they only want you as well

So being low balled by our owners

Have to play the game, so we can all pretend fair value is a thing.

It will be rejected, and some pretend back and forth will then take place until they hit the right number.

Sincerely hope we set a huge price tag on him and increase it as each window opens. Offer him a contract of £300k a week and keep it on the table permanently so he's always got the option of signing on and doubling his money immediately. Set a deadline of next weekend to get it done this window for £160m. Crank it up to £170m in January, £180m next summer etc.

If he wants to play then that's spot on. If he's refusing then he trains alone for the foreseeable, it's a bit of a cuntish thing to do but then again so is refusing to go on a pre-season tour so he can 'explore his options'. Can't run with the fox and hunt with the hounds, that contract works both ways and he'll be almost 29 by the time it runs out. Just need to match his energy, he wants to be a dick? Match it. He wants to be reasonable? Match it

If you become CEO you could probably pull Hurley, fyi.

I think Isak is a player you break your wage structure for. Especially if Jackson, Delap and JP don’t cut the mustard.

Chelsea have a set wage structure going forward that they are not moving off of.

They already failed to land Osimhen because of it, as he refused to accept it.

But we can't sell him to an associated PIF club as UEFA will class the transfer fee as zero. Then we'll be fucked by UEFA for breeching their PSR rules. I know it's a fine but it could be tens of millions.

We need a non PIF Saudi club to buy him. I'm sure our owners can facilitate that.

I'd be way less bothered if he eventually ended up at Liverpool via the ££££ route, selling him directly to those entitled pricks just feels like handing them the title

If he goes to Saudi he will eventually end up at Barca in some agreement that they can afford I reckon.

If anything sums up this transfer window it’s Newcastle’s owners saying he’s not for sale while Newcastle’s owners put in a bid for him

funny old game

It's also sort of saying to Liverpool - shit or get off the pot. The bidding has started so are you part of it or not?

Will it matter tho, since Isak doesnt to want to go to Saudi anyway?

And clubs generally dont bid for players unless theyve already made sure that the player wants the move. So either Isak is game for Saudi or PIF is trying to call Liverpools bluff here or something

I don't think Saudi clubs play by any normal rules tbf

Presumably they think every player has a number and they just need to find it, £500k/week, £600k/week...?

I'm not convinced Liverpool want him for the going rate. Without signing Ekitike, possibly. But it's an absolute fortune to spend in one window on two similar players.

Maybe wishful thinking but I think the only way they get him this summer is if we cave in and drop the asking price a fair amount.
