Nickson and Andy Howe need to be binned after the transfer window. They’ve been a disaster last 2 summer windows

If you're trying to buy top class players you have to accept that other clubs will also want to buy them. It's not Football Manager where the biggest offer wins the day, there are other considerations to be made like what the player wants for example.

That's why I cant see Isak going to Saidi, there is no glory in going there, no prestige, no big trophies.

Force him to stay another season, he may be unhappy but he wont down tools, and it's completely within the clubs rights. Then hopefully, come next summer, one of the big foreign clubs will have the money to sign him. Maybe Bayern will be thinking about a Kane replacement. Don't know if he'd fancy Germany but they are a big club with trophy potential. If not, I'm sure one of the Spanish behemoths can juggle players around so they can sign him.

Whatever happens, we simply need to make it as difficult as possible for him to waltz into a Liverpool jersey (or any big EPL team). In a year's time, Man Utd could very well be in a position to sign him too. Fuck that shit.

I'd love to know the truth of it. Has he downed tools ? Have we left him behind so as not to cause disruption  to the rest of the playing side ?

Sooner we find out sooner I know how much ire I can direct at him.

Victim? Fuck you on about? [emoji38]

I agree, they cant force us to sell. Which is why we shouldn't be selling at all, unless its something truly incredible.  And £150m isnt incredible, its simply his true value. £200m would be in the "incredible" realm.

We are obviously fishing for Sesko whilst knowing that the dippers are now busy getting shot of Diaz and Nunez so that they can get their bid. And I bet its not £150m up front.

The only scenario I can see now where Isak stays is if we only have Wissa as our striker.

Except you were implying we would sell him for under £150m, now you have revised the figure up.

For me if we get £150m then I would contemplate selling. We don't have to, but at least it's probably as high as his value will ever reach. He's 26 this year so don't see it going above that after another season which is when we would ideally sell.

Or not... He's a Newcastle legend in my eyes and always will be.

We most have some of worst fans in country when it comes to giving ex players shit... Cabaye Perez Carroll all getting dogs abuse by fans..what is point ?

On the other hand there's Ferdinand, Fox, Speed, Cole (before the Keegan song), Venison, Keegan as manager, Sibierski, David Kelly (whilst playing for Sunderland), Pav, Shaka, Goddard, Batty off the top of my head.  All clubs fans do it (Shearer got booed going back to Blackburn, Phillips got booed going back to Sunderland) but how many give receptions like the afforementioned players/managers got here.

Tbf at 150mill I'd (if it were up to me) probably let him go even if he hadn't agitated for a move.

I'd want to keep him on a longer contract tbf, but that would be the emotional decision, not the business one. If you look at it from a financial POV, £150m is probably the highest his value will ever be. It's just the idea of selling to THEM which sticks in the craw.

I haven't revised anything. I just said again in that post that they wont pay £150m in hard cash. It will be in the £130m range with the rest in add-ons.

If its £150m plus significant add ons then it might be worth gritting the teeth and taking it.

The simple fact is though that 4 months ago we comfortably beat these cunts in a final. With a well planned window we could have gone toe to toe with them this season. But here we are, about to assist them in pulling away from us again.

I think we should sell Isak, there's no way back, but he won't be getting any shit from me if/when he returns to SJP as an opposition player.

This take is astounding to me. This shit is business. If we don't get the right deal, he comes straight back into the team and bangs in goals until January.

No idea if this is possible; but he’s away, if not this summer then in either of the next 2 windows. So we’re guaranteed a hefty fee. Could we not keep Isak this summer but still buy Wissa, Sesko, the CB we need etc and then flog Isak abroad in the next two windows if only Liverpool seem to be in interested and have the potential to afford him?

Let Isak rot in the reserves for all I care in mean time. He’s burned his bridges and can get to fuck. But we absolutely cannot sell him to Liverpool or any other PL club. The message it’d send would be absolutely appalling.

Find it harsh punishing Isak for his conduct - the blame lays firmly with the club on this one but I see no reason with keeping him for a year and making the point we'll sell him on our terms.

I can understand people having their noses put out by this but it is what it is, Isak will still bang them in for fun if he doesn't get sold and the club don't want to devalue a prize asset.

The "we sold Cole to Man United and rebuilt" line is such an own goal.

We sold him to the Champions who then beat us to the league title twice, went on to win the treble with him in their team, and dominated English football for over a decade ffs.

Its really not. Its the best case I can think of in our history of doing exactly that. We went from 6th to 2nd and ended up with a better team.  Manchester United were already ahead of us when we sold him, and already double champions and double winners when he went. We closed the gap substantially after we sold him going from not even qualifying for Europe to runners up twice, nothing really changed for Man United in the next three seasons, runners up twice, winners twice is where they already were. We've never had a better team and will never go closer to winning the league than the two years after selling Cole.

He came good in the end but was a flop the first 2 1/2 years he was there, there were literal jokes about him (Cantona wears his collar up because his necks dirty from carrying Cole all season), was becomming known for embarrassing misses and I've video of extremely biased and arrogant Man United supporting Journo Steve Curry on Hold the Back Page saying Cole was a terrible signing and Ferguson would snap your hands off for the money back in May 97.

The blame for this whole situation lies at a few doors but Isak is refusing to go on pre season trips with his team mates, manager etc to try and push for a move to a different PL club. That is the message in the press; if it wasn’t the case he should have the decency to deny it. It’s pure fucking rat behaviour.

Keep seeing remarks on social media, many saying a similar line, in response to our fans claiming pif should do a buy loan back etc,

Going off that reply, what are the big successful clubs he can join, seriously?

At some point we need to get at least 4 players into the club by September and to do that we're going to have to start matching some valuations even if w think they're a bit high. There's still the rest of this window, all of January and all of June in order to extract as much from Liverpool to balance the spending we need to do in the next few weeks. We know the money will come eventually so spend it now, so the best we can and the Isak situation will resolve itself in the next 11 months.

It's a shit situation to be in and we've handled it really poorly and been shown up but there is a way to limit the damage and that means spending before September. They need to get a fucking wriggle on though, clock is ticking

Just ready in spanish Press that Luis Enrique IS looking to change his front line and Isak IS top of the lists. They want rid of Gonzalo.

Could be good a 100M swap with randal kolo muani coming our way?

That's true, but when part of the motivation is financial, and we're hamstrung, I can't see how thats fixed. I could be wrong.

Let's see.

PIF can go around that. It is not just about money.

Liverpool fans are like fucking locusts around anything Newcastle related online right now. Don't think I've seen a single one that looks or sounds like a local fan either. No wonder everyone despises them.

He's not that good, not for the transfer fee, not for his wages, and just not a very good player.

People will think this is over simplifying but honestly, I really believe very good signings are there to be made to move our club forward, before the end of the window. Even with all the challenges that exist.

We need to stop pissing about and actually start acting like a top club. Make a prompt decision on Isak and own it - either lay down the law to him and have him stay, or get a bloody excellent deal when you sell him. Non-English club only. Alex, you don't get to call the shots here.

Then sign the best players we can. There ARE options available to improve on a now non-existent Longstaff and Wilson (i.e. anyone with legs) for example. It's a weak, small club mentality to constantly bemoan how hard things are and barely sign anyone.

I just don't accept that what we've done so far is the best we can do. If what we're doing isn't working, then change approach. It is fundamentally that simple imo.

Liverpool?

If he's exploring his options though?

He's hardly exploring anything if there's nobody in for him,

Is he exploring options based on winning things,

Or are they him/agent really exploring biggest pay day?

You said "I bet he goes for about £130m with a remaining £15m being in add ons"

That doesn't add up to £150m mate.

Come on now.
