Any other club - £130m

Liverpool- £160m

If Liverpool aren't happy with that, then that's theirs and Isak's problem, not ours.

There should always be a path back to the club and I'm certain Howe will be thinking the same, but should he not wish to tread it, then it's on Liverpool's head to make his wishes a reality. He can then blame them for not wanting him enough.

I keep forgetting I'm American when I hear Irish and American Liverpool fans going on and on about this. Forrin cunts.

To be fair Mike, you’ve earned your stripes 10 times over during the Ashley years mate, no one can accuse you of glory hunting, fucking miseryhunting more like. If you were one of those “fans” you’d have gone full:

I concur that shallow online Liverpool fans are annoying. But consider that if we want to compete with them on revenue, that’s what our fan base will have to become as well. Just the “good forrins” like Mike (and to a lesser extent) myself will not be enough if we want to be a club that’s splashing a hundred million in the transfer market every year.

Successful modern clubs need to accept that they have two different kinds of fans: a passionate core of diehards that is complemented by an army of casuals. The latter wouldn’t exist without the former, but the former needs the latter as well.

I've heard all week how big Liverpool are and his much they want him. In that case they'll pay what we demand.

They will feel they don’t need to, they will make Isak try force the move. He’s already started to.

Just on a side note, saying hes world class shows how the current strikers class is quite poor compared to the likes of Shearer, Henry, Batistuta, Van Basten, Ronaldo etc

Not saying you're wrong, it's just funny that this has been the general consensus for like 15 years.

If he had made his feelings clear when last season ended, I'd have no issues with him whatsoever. To leave it this late though, when the best alternatives have already been snapped up, it's just not cool. Who's to say we couldn't have signed Pedro or Hugo if it was clear that Isak was going.

Saying that, I'd have no problem with him wearing the Newcastle jersey for another year. I just can't see him completely spitting the dummy if he doesn't get his move. He'll surely still want to work hard for the team and score goals. He wouldn't want to come across as a bad egg, that would put some clubs off buying him next season.

We simply have to keep him for this coming season at least as at this point in the window, he's irreplaceable. On top of that, if we sell him now, any player we try to sign will come with an 'Isak tax' on top of the 'near end of window tax'. It would make his fee significantly less when you take that into account.

All we can do now as supporters, is to wait and see what happens. If we do force him to stay, the fans have to get behind him. The vitriol can wait until he dons another teams jersey next season.

Disclaimer: just an old armchair pundits opinion which bares no factual knowledge whatsoever .

I'd be tempted to possibly take the pain if a huge offer came in from PSG or Saudi now and then try and fucking sign 4 or 5 players (lol). We can't sell to Liverpool, gifts them the title and weakens us significantly in the league. They can't go out and buy like for like. He will still have big value in january or next summer. It's a complicated one, we have clearly let him down to some extent, but where can he go? I'd be inclined to keep him, even if he barely plays at least we don't look like a fucking feeder club for liverpool. We do need to totally overhaul our backroom operations for transfers though, Absolute shambles.

Unless mum/dad are from Liverpool. That shit just blows my mind.

It's been like that for years now. Hoping the cup win brings a lot of those kids back but if they're parents are okay with it then they're probably lost. 😕

I disagree. As long as football is what you describe, clubs will have to put the fans last as they race to build revenue at any and all costs. Even still, we will never compete with those clubs, and neither will anyone else. The second anyone does, the goalposts will be moved again.

The only way to preserve what's left of the competition, integrity, identity, and culture of the game is the abolishment of the corrupt rules both by the Premier League and UEFA that were carefully created to preserve the status quo. Until that happens, anything else is pissing in the wind and the game will continue  on its current path with the gap ever widening.

Isak isn’t forcing a move. He’s just pissed off that the board haven’t delivered what he was promised when he signed. He has a point

He’s gone about the total wrong way - letting down his manager, team mates and fans in the far east.

Given what’s left of the window, I can see Eddie trying to get us a player in exchange.

Better not be Joe Gomez.

Overall deal has to be worth north of £135m. Minimum.

I'd take Konate in exchange. Or Marmadishivilli. Or Szobsoslai
