120m is nothing

literally 150 is bare minimum and even then it won’t go a long way

with how much a good CL run could be worth to us, might be better to keep

ideal situation get Sesko, new contract with Isak at 250k with gentleman’s agreement to leave or even release clause at 160m

Im sure if Yasir has a personal conversation he can be quite persuasive especially with the wealth available to them.

Yep, but in all honesty, that is the same as deciding it is not in Newcastles best interest to sell.

Every player has his price and my opinion it's £200 providing it's fine by August 5th.

Under those conditions I believe a sale would be acceptable.

I agree with this, I think we value Alex at £150m but it'll take more than that to budge us from our "not for sale" stance.

I think the point is in an even weaker position, Tottenham held out and it didnt backfire on them. There's no reason we should feel pressure to sell the player for a negotiated fee because he asks to leave, and the entire media thinks we should let him

Completely agree. However I dont think we need to be extreme. There are shrewd elite businessmen who dont make promises and then breaks them.

If reports are to be believed (I'm not sure they are), Leipzig are allowing clubs to speak to him.

Yes, and it's a ridiculously expensive deal, which is why there's no way we let Isak go to Liverpool unless they cough up seriously big money.

If all else hinges on how Isak is sorted, get it done now. Even if it means he’s not going anywhere. Our plans, for what they’re worth cannot hinge on this one player. He either needs someone alongside him, or a new striker in their own right. But fucking sort it!

I think Isak might have taken the jump a bit too soon. Everybody likely to lose on this. Disappointing. Never trust a Swede.

Aye, the timeline just doesn’t make any sense.  The pool of clubs that could potentially sign him is extremely small and he waited until Arsenal and Liverpool had already bought strikers leaving only PSG and Liverpool again. Leaving next summer would make so much more sense. Why go on a strike when he could have just said he wants to progress his career next summer and make the few mega clubs aware he’s available?

Obviously he’s badly underpaid but I never thought money would be the main reason he wants to go. Instead I thought he wants one of the prestige clubs so he can play for league titles and CL every season. Still think Barca next summer would make the most sense, Barca have so many players they could sell to fix their finances and get the best possible long-term replacement for Lewa.
