MagPar
It's all about spite for me now. We can't sell him to Liverpool, end of discussion. Fuck him and them, he's got 3 years on his contract left so he simply has to stay, play, and score goals. If he cries himself to sleep every night, so be it. I am not in the slightest bit confident that this will happen though. Bleak season ahead if he goes, just think of the mockery when we play Liverpool, it would be unbearable. Andy84
I think in all of this Liverpool actually feel they really need Isak. With the tragedy of Jota, Nunez on his way and Diaz already gone. Yes Ekitike signed but I’m not sure if they’re really convinced on him to be the player the need yet. They’re literally trying to sign one of the top strikers in world football from us. In a market not blessed with great strikers. Not only that, from a PL rival who also have Champions league football this season. Who’s under contract for 3 more years. On top of that I don’t think they have a central striker at the moment who they are truly convinced of. The fee should be enormous, ridiculous, astronomical, eye watering to even make them have their doubts. Edited August 1, 2025 by Andy84
Novocastrian
Liverpool won’t pay £150m, I’d love us to tell them to do one but I think the next bid (speculating around £130m/£135) will be enough. There’s absolutely no leadership at the club at all. Liverpool are taking the absolute piss out of us and our absentee owners are just going to suck it up. NE27
Honestly, ideally I want him shot of and us to have been concluding deals quietly whilst getting the top whack he's worth. I don't think the first part of that is going to happen so reluctantly the best option is to keep him until we can form a proper plan. But seriously Alex, what an absolute cunts trick you've pulled on NUFC.

Ed Vinegar
Am I alone in thinking that the amount Liverpool bid doesn't matter at all at this point? We can't sell until we have replacements signed. They could offer us £300m up front today and it would still be a crazy risk to accept as we might go into a full league season with Osula as our only striker. Hard to see in practical terms how this could get done in the remaining window. Of course, we might just totally give up on the prospect of being a top level club and sell him without replacements. But surely not.
AyeDubbleYoo
We certainly won't be selling him until the end of the window if it relies on lining up 2 strikers. We're not close to any at the moment so we simply can't sell him even if we would like to.

I’d like to see Osula get subbed on instead of the cunt for half a season but it’s not happening. If we keep Isak and sign Wissa, then we've already got a better strike force than Liverpool, and it will only cost £40m tops. The we spend the rest on improving the squad and why can't we have a tilt at the title?
Bada Bing
I would drag this out. Uncomfortable for all, but we need replacements and the club comes first. If Liverpool really want him, then they'll eventually cough up £150m. Can't help but think Isak and his agent have overplayed their hand by going this maximalist. Nine
People saying the likes of ‘he‘ll never play here again if he stays’, ‘burnt bridges’ etc etc. So many examples of players who have pulled this kind of manoeuvre and ended up staying and all being rosey. Kane not long ago for one. We’ll all quickly move on if he stays and scored another 20+. Edited August 1, 2025 by Nine
alexf
It's really crazy like. Thing is they can probably still afford £150m and if I was them I'd do it. Adding him on to the squad they already have guarantees they will be close to winning the champions league and premier league ever year for the next few years atleast. Which will more than cover his fee. Once Salah leaves it's less guaranteed. But to take the best striker "available" ahead of all your rivals it seems like a no brainer. What doesn't make sense is our seemingly inevitable weakening of our position just because he's kicked up a fuss. Put it this way if he's at any of Man City Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea. Do you think they sell to a fellow domestic club for any price? Let alone 120-130m when you have currently zero other senior strikers at your club 2 weeks before a season starts. It's madness from the club if we let him go.

PauloGeordio
Just tell them no! 3 years left. He’s our player. Next year a bidding war. If he wants to go that much he’ll have to perform for one more season and earn it.
