I'm beginning to think what we gain in pride and appearances by keeping him doesn't outweigh the dark cloud that will loom over the club as a result of his unresolved situation and his general presence around the place. I can't see a reality where he plays for us again, even if he remains under contract. I would much rather we have a striker in the team at Villa Park in two weeks and clarity and closure on this whole situation so we can move forward. At the moment we have none of those things and are stuck in a state of stasis and inertia. Ideally we would go out and sign two strikers anyway with the knowledge that money for Isak is coming either now or over the next 12 months, but it seems unlikely as the word is that we're lining up a replacement only in the event of him leaving.

The longer he is here, the more distracting and potentially poisonous it will become. We've been bullied by the bigger club in Liverpool which has been facilitated in large part by Isak and his representatives. Take the ego hit and move on so we can start looking after our prime concern which is Newcastle United and putting together a competitive squad.

Don't get why people are so keen for him to go. We cannot allow him to go to Liverpool,  they have treated the club with zero respect. Newcastle will also suffer more as we would have to rush to find a replacement. Lessing Alex could totally change how we play depending on who we could get in. We need a season to properly put on a succession plan

Honestly I wouldn't be totally against selling Isak for the right fee if I had the slightest inclination the club were running a slick recruitment operation and knew what they were doing in the market. The reason we're in this position, with a world class player potentially going for a British record fee, is because of targeting players of the right ilk and the right age bracket and allowing Eddie to elevate them. Player trading is a clear way out of FFP.

Loaned out to a Turkish club for a decent loan fee would probably be our best bet, I assume that's what happened with Osinhen?
