Stottie
We survived a season without Tonali. What happens with one player will not bring the club down. He's our player until we choose to sell him.

I've said this a few times but the club is not at a revenue level where it can afford to renew Isak. The move here is get £150m and then spend it wisely across a number of positions. When are we finally going to realise that this is 10 times easier said than done under the current regime? "Number of positions".. We can't land a player atm, and I doubt our list is all that long either. If only we had scouts.

Infinitely Content
I'm beginning to think what we gain in pride and appearances by keeping him doesn't outweigh the dark cloud that will loom over the club as a result of his unresolved situation and his general presence around the place. I can't see a reality where he plays for us again, even if he remains under contract. I would much rather we have a striker in the team at Villa Park in two weeks and clarity and closure on this whole situation so we can move forward. At the moment we have none of those things and are stuck in a state of stasis and inertia. Ideally we would go out and sign two strikers anyway with the knowledge that money for Isak is coming either now or over the next 12 months, but it seems unlikely as the word is that we're lining up a replacement only in the event of him leaving. The longer he is here, the more distracting and potentially poisonous it will become. We've been bullied by the bigger club in Liverpool which has been facilitated in large part by Isak and his representatives. Take the ego hit and move on so we can start looking after our prime concern which is Newcastle United and putting together a competitive squad. Dortmund should've been charged with some sort of crime for the price they managed to get for Dembele You say that but Dembele has eventually fulfilled his promise a lot more than Coutinho did. duo
Don't get why people are so keen for him to go. We cannot allow him to go to Liverpool, they have treated the club with zero respect. Newcastle will also suffer more as we would have to rush to find a replacement. Lessing Alex could totally change how we play depending on who we could get in. We need a season to properly put on a succession plan

We will get gouged for £50 million+ for him that we will never get a return on. It's the type of signing where you might as well just give up IMO. Honestly I wouldn't be totally against selling Isak for the right fee if I had the slightest inclination the club were running a slick recruitment operation and knew what they were doing in the market. The reason we're in this position, with a world class player potentially going for a British record fee, is because of targeting players of the right ilk and the right age bracket and allowing Eddie to elevate them. Player trading is a clear way out of FFP. Signing a current England striker who has scored 44 goals (27, 17) in last two seasons, at the grand old age of 29 (Beardsley was 32 when he joined us for his second spell; Ferdinand was 29). Might as well give-up? really?
Kooiman
If they are such PSR wizards 150m shouldn't be a problem. If Isak is that bothered he can make the difference up himself.
mikejaxer
No player is bigger than the club. That said, I'd rather we let him rot in the reserves than sell him to that rancid fucking club.

p_cowell141
Highest 10 Premier League transfer fees below (EUR, not GBP). If Liverpool really have the PSR headroom, 175 million euros (150m GBP) should be the absolute minimum. Selling to a rival for anything less would be an insult. I hope we've told them unceremoniously where to go.
