Obviously, they are twats for many reasons, but the way people go on about Al-Rummayan you think he'd be threatening to break Isak's dad's legs over this. A player & his agent seem perfectly fine to take the piss. Wouldn't be at all shocked if there's some kind of KSA-FSG agreement here. They get Isak for a few years, they then sell him to KSA in line with Vision 2030 or whatever it is. I think the Saudis come out of this worse than the club, you can't give it the biggin with "number1" and then lose out in transfers against everyone we come up against

Palestoon
Any way you spin it, the clubs handling of this whole saga and the summer in general has been amateur hour. Its so obvious we lack real experience and leadership at the top. It really should have been a straightforward and professional handling of this. If 150 mil is the price we are happy to let him leave on, then communicate that clearly to Liverpool, and tell them not to call back until they have that number. Then we will see IF we can strike a deal this late in the window for a player we deem a worthy replacement. If we cant, sorry, maybe next year. Tell Isak and his agent, we understand he wants to leave, but he has 3 years left on his contract, and in order for us to break it, we need to be adequately paid for it. Let him know the terms we've made clear to Liverpool. Give him 3 options 1. Act like a professional, and if we can make it work, you can leave with dignity 2. Sign a new contract that gives you a pay bump, and us a reasonable clause for him to go next summer (continent preferable) 3. Play on the current contract, or rot in the reserves until the window closes, or until next summer. Then, focus on filling positions of need we ACTUALLY have. Our CBs are 3 mid 30 yr olds, and a guy who hasnt been able to stay healthy for 2 straight years. Our Midfield is 3 fantastic players (one coming off a major injury) and a literal child behind him. nothing else. Its unacceptable for us to go into a champions league campaign with those situations. Instead, we are out here every day looking at a new striker, getting rejected and moving down our list to worse and worse options. We're neglecting other positions of need, embarrassing ourselves in front of the world, Creating uncertainty and discord around our club, and put ourselves in a week bargaining position both with Liverpool, and any club we look to buy a player from. We are behaving as if We're the party in this holding a hot coal, when in reality the other 2 (Isak and Liverpool) are in the weak positions. Time is running out in the window, and Liverpool need to decide if they need to move onto other targets, or wait this out, or just stump up our asking price. Isak is moving towards a situation where he could be stuck at a club where hes burnt bridges in a world cup year. No player wants that. Us on the other hand... are in a great positon. We dont need Isak money this summer to fill out the squad. Player is on a 3 yr contract, and will likely hold value even in the worst case scenario. Why we are acting like the party in distress I cant understand. Genuinely Infuriating. Edited August 7, 2025 by Palestoon

It was the same last summer. The feud between Mitchell and Howe and us making no signings. Still finished 5th and won a cup which got right up their noses. I would just keep Isak out of principle now. Whether we lose money or not, his career is ruined etc. I'd prefer for neither to happen and he have a good season with us then go to Barca next summer. Have a look at how many goals we scored when he was missing last season and season previous. His brilliance has basically dragged us to CL and a cup win. Put yourself in his shoes. Everyone is telling him he’s the best striker in the league if not the world. He’s getting paid significantly less than dozens of vastly inferior players at a club that is an absolute mess off the pitch and can’t / won’t match his ambitions on it. He might have acted like an utter twat. I just think judgment should be reserved. Agree with you to a point, he has served us brilliantly over the last 3 years and probably has outgrown us as we've failed to keep up with him due to being hamstrung by PSR rules, I'm sure the club would have loved to have improved the team around him over the last 2 years and met his ambition but we've not been allowed, so I don't condemn him for wanting to improve his surroundings and earn what he deserves and win what he deserves with his ability. What sticks in my throat though is the way he's gone about it, we took a punt on him and he has been coached into this world class player by the very manager he's taken a massive dump on from an almighty height, fans have a right to be angry at that whilst also appreciating the cup win and the goals that got us back into the CL. To give in to that utter cunt now would be the worst thing we could do. Liverpool could pay us 200m and it wouldn't change my mind, there's no time to do anything now, nothing significant or meaningful anyway. We'd be getting quoted double or triple what a player is worth, it's already happening with Jackson and other average players, we couldn't have done this window worse really. No it’s all cartel and their media mouth pieces trying to pressure us to sell low. They want us put firmly in our place like a good little club. If our hierarchy wanted us to turn on them as a way to retreat then they’re going about it the right way. No excuses whatsoever for not having a CEO in place. Eales made himself very clear last year of his situation. Amanda would have been whipping them all into shape. Seriously need to get a grip whatever the outcome of this shit show transfer window/Isak side show.

He’s of massive use to us off the pitch. He is our biggest asset, and has more than half his contract to go. They would have to be completely not present to give in. then I think it would be safe to assume that PIF is completely disengaged when it comes to us at that point. I don’t believe that they are willing to basically let the club, their asset, die just yet despite their utterly inept decisions, or lack thereof, for the last two summers. Absolutely zero fucking respect for anyone connected to the club which is increasingly obvious the more time passes, I was open to giving him some leeway but he can fuck right off now. That's not to say PIF don't have a huge part to play in this increasing shambles, putting the biggest asset we have by far in Howe in yet another impossible position, now being asked to work miracles again next season. We desperately needed to get CL football again next year to have any hope of kicking on like we were meant to be doing. Now we've got a petulant child to deal with.
