Crimson Cardigan
It doesn’t matter how much the fans have turned, we can’t sell him to fucking Liverpool. Sign 2 strikers, let Isak stew for a while and sell him abroad next summer.

Smal
nice press release from the club. Could’ve done with a bit more of that this summer really.

Moose
TBHFWIWIMHO, I think he'll be a Liverpool player come September. Having this mopey snake dragging his bottom lip around the place is destructive to the team spirit Howe and the players have worked so hard to build. It can only be a good thing that the club are briefing that offers less than the 150m valuation won't be entertained, now let's see if they have the testicular fortitude to stick by it. Isak, his agent, the dippers and their media shills have played every snidey trick in the book to try and weaken our hand, it feels like we've weather that particular storm as evidenced by the fact Romano and Ornstein aren't tweeting about how Isak only wants to join the divine paragons of footballing virtue, the club God created in his own image and how Newcastle are a bunch of big greedy meanies for not letting Liverpool off with a few million or 40m here and there! Sibierski
I’m starting to lean back into this is all on Mitchell / Eales. If Isak had an agreement he could leave in summer, it wouldn’t be with Howe, it would be with the guys running the club. Then when Mitchell fucks off (as he knew what a shit show summer it would be) and Eales went, Howe has been left to pick up the pieces from an agreement between Isak and people who are no longer at the club. Howe been blindsided, and has to reconfigure attack for a lead guy. Like he knew he wanted a 2nd striker and we’d be targeting players on that list, but all of sudden we’re chasing the named striker late on which will piss off Howe no end as he’ll likely want to know more about them before committing. Be Newcastle working the media to the best possible price for Isak Considering Edwards is almost the club's mouthpiece then if it's not true it will make them look incredibly weak if he is still sold. This really, really needs to be the truth mind. I dont care if this saga derails our season, sometimes there are more important things at stake. If we do force him to stay this will actually be one of the proudest moments I've felt with the club.
Mahoneys Tache
He’s under contract. If he pisses about he doesn’t get paid. I still think he’s young and daft and he’s being badly advised but the contract is the contract. This is win win for the club. He either winds his neck in and does his job or he rots and the message to the rest of the world is that they can’t take the piss. Or Liverpool cough enough money for it to be palatable. I think if there had been an agreement it would've been "leaked" all over the shop as justification by the Isak camp by now (if it has, I missed it). The only thing that has come out was Mitchell pulled a planned new Isak contract last summer - and that tidbit came from club sources as part of their info dump on the trail of destruction left by the little Levy wannabe. tarie4
So, what Luke's saying kinda lines up with what the other reporters have been saying, right? Romano on YouTube said we offered Isak a new contract earlier this week, and he turned it down, but also said Isak could stay, 'cause, you know, Romano can't predict the future. Ben and his talk sport crew also said Liverpool won't bid again, just like Luke pointed out. They were told Isak's not for sale. I did say this isn't as simple as everyone thinks. That scene from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly comes to mind. Like a three-way standoff. Look, either Liverpool pays what we think he's worth, or they can forget it. That's the kind of attitude I want our board to have. We won't be pushed around by a rival, an agent, or the player himself.

It was "leaked", but only in the past three weeks. Which suggests it was wholly made up to once again paint us in the worst light possible.
NE27
Scouse fans whining on Reddit about us holding him hostage, and how we are damaging our reputation to other potential signings. Here's a fucking idea, don't sign a big contract without verbalising or having it stitched into the contract you wish to leave within a couple of years? I honestly believe we would begrudgingly accept he's going as long as a value we feel is apt is met and he made the club well aware, hell, I had come to expect this next summer in any case. We need big money from big players when it comes to them going, yet isak is actively fucking us over to get what he wants, tough fucking tits mate. Sibierski
Goes back to Liverpool. Offer £150m which then makes us seriously consider it (peak value which we have to consider), or publicly leak you are going elsewhere so Isak can come crawling back with tail between his legs. But Liverpool being the cunts they are, know they can drag this out till we play them, so he’s not involved, then move on elsewhere.

He also pulled out of both Liverpool and Arsenal away last season. I’m astonished as he seemed a good egg. It’ll be up there if not worse than Owen’s ovation when he comes back to SJP. Shit-house. Tallies with what some of the journos have been saying, that he's had his head turned as far back as March.

We want to send a message to the football world, in particular the cartel, that if you want one of our star players, you pay every penny of our valuation. We also want to send a message to current and future players that their scorched earth tactics to force a move aren't going to work here. I'd happily see us cut our nose off to spite our face by refusing all offers, having this cunt spend the season in the reserves, on the treatment table or at home for all I care even if it means losing out on a significant sum of money when we eventually sell him next year. The way he and the dippers have acted shouldn't result in them getting what they want. Edited August 9, 2025 by Moose
