Torn between hating the cunt and never wanting to see him play for us again, or keeping him here just to piss him and Liverpool off whilst showing we aren't a soft touch in the process .

The best solution for us is him going abroad for a hefty fee. Let’s keep him training on his own and excluded from the players who actually want to play for us until that happens.

Think Liverpool will end up with regrets after this window, like. If they'd left Ekitike alone we might have ended up letting Isak go for £130m-ish, in the knowledge we had our replacement secured. Either that, or they weren't as keen on Isak as Isak was on Liverpool and put in a token bid where if accepted then great, if not, meh. Similar to how they bid £12m or so for Owen when we bid £16m.

They wouldn't have ended up with Isak for 130m

Im leaning towards believing all of this is true. Especially following Howe's press conference yesterday.

Sounds like the block is coming in from ownership, not Howe, and it's important to note that distinction. It allows Howe to be the peacemaker whenever Isaks head cools.

Hence the lack of fines, and open door for reintegration.

They're playing a bit of good cop, bad cop right now with Howe and the ownership

Whatever occurs, it has to be for the benefit of NUFC ultimately. If it means he's blocked and must stay, however, I don't see any upside having a World class striker on the books, so disgruntled and angry; who just won't try and knows he'll spend most of his days benched.

The fans will give him dogs abuse

( counterproductive but entirely natural)

who wins? Even if we manage to salvage cover for the striking roles, fact remains one of the greatest talents to grace NUFC has left. Whether he's here or not.

There it is. The bases being covered.

Kind of feels like the truth though. This version of events lines up with everything that has happened.

I can’t believe Isak might derail our season.

Howe said in his presser that it isn't as simple as just drawing a line under it and saying he can't go, so that immediately doesn't add up with what Luke has said.

Not wanting to piss on your chips, but if the way I’m reading it is correct, that analogy doesn’t really work, unless:

Tim was one of the best in the world in that particular job

And you’d tapped up Tim because he worked at another hospital and was doing great things there

And you’d paid some people on social media to say Tim should definitely leave his current job to come and work at your hospital

And Tim had a contract with 3 years left at his current job so you’d have to pay the other hospital for him to join you

And the offer you made to the other hospital for Tim was derisory so they rejected it

And Tim self certified himself as being off sick, so he didn’t have to go to work

And the agency was a Serbian gangster

And Tim was a Judas cunt

If all those things happened, then yes, Tim = Isak

Well that’s me telt.

Would laugh my tits off, if Isak has to stay - World Cup year too coming up and he may well be left to rot on the sidelines. It really is unprofessional behaviour (assuming Paully is right) - I had Isak down for much better than this.

It's really disappointing. He's destroyed his legacy with the club.

Thanks for this Andy.

Can I not have an hour of blissful ignorance telling myself everything is fine?

Isak is out over his skis. He did this in a way that did not maximize the chances of his desired move happening. The timing of it, waiting until the end of the window, was horrible. It’s also clear now that he is on strike. If you're going to do that, you better be damn sure that the buying club you want to go to is going to match your own club’s evaluation. That has absolutely not happened.

If we hold on to Isak and with the World Cup coming at the end of the season, I can’t help but think next summer could be just as tricky for landing a striker as this window has been.

Most of the forwards we’ll have an eye on will likely be involved, and there’s a long history of clubs holding off selling until after the tournament. One standout performance or a golden boot run and suddenly the asking price is through the roof.

We’ve already seen how drawn-out and difficult this window has been when chasing key targets - a World Cup year could easily bring more of the same, if not worse.

Whatever happens with this cunt he'll be remembered as one of the biggest snides going.

Wish nothing but misery for him, his agent, and Liverpool FC (regardless of whether he ends up there or not).

I think there’s a chance that a replacement for Isak will be brought in during this window, regardless of whether he is sold or not. From a purely financial standpoint, it wouldn’t really become an issue until the PSR deadline next summer. Best case: a replacement is signed in August, and Isak stays until next summer unless Liverpool coughs up £150m now in August. In that case, it will probably, over time, be in everyone’s interest for him to contribute to the team next season. For Isak, it’s important to keep potential suitors interested (+ it’s a World Cup year), and for Newcastle it’s important both from a sporting and financial perspective to maintain his market value.

According to a recently departed player, Isak downed tools after the final both in training and matches - he’s done here.

He also pulled out of both Liverpool and Arsenal away last season.

I’m astonished as he seemed a good egg.

It’ll be up there if not worse than Owen’s ovation when he comes back to SJP.

Shit-house.

I find that hard to believe because I don't think Howe would have continued to play him.

Yea, this is still a big question mark. No suprise our useless journos didn't ask him to expand on that.

Could it be he was saying that in terms of saying blocking a sale isn't as straightforward as that means Isak just rejoins the group and all is well?

Wouldn't make sense for him to reveal the clubs weak position. Would also expect that if that really was the case and theirs something we dont know that hurts our hand, his agent would have the media banging on about it every day.

But even the most bullish reports about Isak leaving always caveat it with "IF Newcastle open the door"

Tallies with what some of the journos have been saying, that he's had his head turned as far back as March.

Making whatever Slot said to him on the pitch at the end of the final even more pertinent, now. ???
