If they offer close enough to £150m I'm pretty sure we would sell. We'd probably take our chances with Wissa and someone like Jackson/Aghehowa for the sake of getting the atmosphere at the club positive again. They really have been absolute cunts about this. I hope Eddie is reconsidering his friendship with Hughes the slimy bastard. If PIF have decided no and he stays, then Liverpool have made it easy for them. They could be putting the pressure on by upping their bid, but instead they’re just arrogantly sitting back assuming the dirty strike tactic will force us to sell at a low price. duo
If Isak has an issue with anyone it should be with Liverpool. If they hadn't bought Ekitike this deal would probably have been done now. They are the ones who have thrown him under the bus by pulling that move. Sadly he's too thick to see it

I'm actually looking forward to the home game in 2 weeks, it will be an absolute bear pit and the players will be out for blood, if ever there was a perfect storm of incentive for us this was it. I hope we batter them all over the pitch and send them home battered, bruised and snotty from tears. Edited August 10, 2025 by Mattoon

Sadly he's too thick to see it This and his agent have done him no favours. His agent has been in talks with Liverpool for some time. Told him he's their No1 target and will stop at nothing to bring him in. Then at the 1st sign of no from NUFC, they go buy the alternative and our most likely replacement, then when he forces his own hand by not flying out etc...they low ball an offer, lower than what they said their opening bid would be, and then refuse to come up or negotiate, leaving him in no mans land. He's been advised terribly by his agent, and needs to boot him out the door, regardless of whether he gets his move or not. Tbh, if its a no from us and we're not letting him go due to no time to replace (again partly down to Liverpool) then the way back into the fold is to sack his agent, sign a new deal here, and start scoring his way back into everyone's good books. Emotic
I hope Isak realises how he's been an utter pawn in a long-drawn saga that has totally derailed our summer and undermined our amazing 24/25 season. All that goodwill he cultivated as part of this incredible squad could've been kept and managed as long as he had just been professional, gone along with the team to our pre-season, and just let the damn boardroom business play out in the background. Now he has spent up all of his credit with the fans, and only strengthened the resolve of our owners not to give in to Liverpool. It wasn't that difficult to keep up the pretense either. He should sack his agent, total shitshow because of his greed.

Real Madrid might offer 170m for Tonali tomorrow. We'd probably take it. But that doesn't mean Tonali's on the market. It's gotta be an offer we can't turn down. We wouldn't be allowed to accept that man! Has to go through the rigorous premier league market value tests.
Shearer9
Isak isn't in the right frame of mind to train with the group? Just start calling it what it is: he is very clearly on strike to force his valuation down and force the club into selling him to Liverpool. I don't really read that much into Howe's comments either way, he knows he needs to leave himself room depending on which way this situation goes. If he isn't sold, he needs to be able to reintegrate him, if he is sold Howe needs to be able to look strong for the other players. In the meantime he needs to leave the door open to him staying as much as possible.
Memphis
All isak had to do was to be professional. All he had to do was to be a reasonable person. If he had done that, he could have left next summer with our regards, knowing he was a key part in the revival of a great club - and our supporters would have held him in high esteem as one of the true greats. All he had to do was be patient. But he couldn’t. Now he has forever tarnished his name among the people who loved him most. He turned his back on the manager who helped him go from potentially world class to actually world class. He turned his back on the teammates who helped create his elite status. It’s all such a shame.
Andy
Personally don't buy the "badly led by his agent" narrative like. It absolves him of his own actions; he's a 25 year old bloke and he's been around the game long enough to know fine well what he was doing and what the consequences would be. The noises from us are correct and how they should be IE 'he's going nowhere' But can anyone actually envision him playing for us again? I'm not so sure so I can't bring myself to rule out a late departure. To us it’s probably a new experience but let’s look at fucking Liverpool again. Suarez? Coutinho? Torres? Gerrard? Once the player know the exit route is completely dead they will apologize, ask for a chance to play again and wait for the next window Most of the footballers are shameless cunts. That’s why they don’t have problems to be re-integrated to the team.

Aye it’s a handy scapegoat if the move doesn’t happen and we need to reintegrate him into the squad, allows Isak to save face to some extent with teammates and fans. Ultimately though he has to give his agent his blessing to do all of this.

I mean, it's a hypothetical. If everything were done in the background, and everyone was dealing in good faith, it wouldn't have come to this. In one scenario, we'd have Ekitike, we'd have sold Isak for 125million and Liverpool would have gotten him. The scouse idiots paying 116.5 million for a Bundesliga midfielder set the benchmark and was a stupid move in hindsight.
Abacus
Not sure which way this will all resolve, but I hope we act like a big club and make him stay. You can't have every big player being able to be unsettled by some other club and then allowed to leave for less than we want, or at all, if we just want to set an example.
