Being charitable, it's possible that today was some sort of deadline for him to make himself available for the squad on Saturday? And since he's still 'training' it makes sense that him not being available for the game is the beginning of him being 'on strike'. I agree with what others are saying about not letting him leave without a 'replacement'. What Eddie needs to decide now is whether the negative consequences of him staying outweigh what we would miss with him gone and no replacement. And it appears as if all of the replacements we were interested in are gone, and if he does go and we try to bring in a replacement, every club in the world knows we're pretty desperate and have money to spend.
