Fantastic response if Hope's correct. It's a huge blow to not be able to play him and we'll suffer in the short term but a line needs to be drawn at some point. Sincerely hope he never kicks a ball for the next 35 months the little cunt

The Sun are saying Liverpool will now offer 130. Its 20 short but I bet it will be accepted.

This effectively end up being 100 because other clubs will significantly add ££££ onto any striker we bid for.

Cheers Alex I$ak

Good news Liverpool fans, your club is preparing a fresh Isak bid!

The bad news? According to The Sun!

Perfect.

Now get out there and figure out how to get two strikers in and don't fucking re-integrate this punk.

Let him sit till next summer. And then we can ship him out then.

I think what Isak and his agent would have demanded would have been closer to 5m on top of his current wage, probably a release clause of some type and certainly no extension. Sorry, but I think the suggestion or even promise by Staveley (supposedly) that a contract improvement was due that summer, not even two years into a six year contract, was a big mistake considering we ended up having to sell Anderson and Minteh that summer to prevent a points deduction. We clearly had very little room to manoeuvre, so if indeed Mitchell postponed those discussions for financial/PSR reasons that seems entirely reasonable to me considering the four additional years Isak already had to go on his current deal. Maybe the delivery/explanation was wrong and set the stage for this whole ordeal, but I’m more skeptical about promising the new deal than on postponing it at that stage.

It’s all he say she say now.

But any agreement, would at least have been a written agreement from last year. That’s a better position than we are now in. With so long left on his contract, a then willing signee, I don’t see why we would agree to a low release clause and no contract extension. We use the leverage we have. You’ve got so many years left, we are doubling your wage, we’ll add only 1 extra year and a fair release clause befitting a player of year calibre with 3-5 years left.

Again, I used the Palmer example.  New contract within 12 months of signing a 7+1 year deal. He signed for a further 9 years. You pay him his worth.

You can’t convince me our PSR position is so perilous we couldn’t give our best player a new contract. If it’s so bad we should sell him anyway and rebuild.

I would desperately love for the FMV rules to disappear, we sign a fuck off deal and can afford huge recruitment, big new deals for our top players and can just afford to keep this lad in a one man bomb squad for three years.

Too much to ask?

Nah.

Keep him. Get 1 in. Get him back in the squad and contributing so he can be sold for good value next season.

I expect PIF to remain level headed.
