Disagree very strongly with this.

I think that's what he wants. What his agent wants. We bawl and scream about him and the narrative firmly becomes "he cannot continue to play here, the fans have turned". I reckon that's exactly what he wants to happen, for Monday to be all about him, vitriol from the stands etc.

For me we should completely ignore him. Maybe call Liverpool a bunch of cunts for tapping him up, but ignore Isak entirely. No chants, nothing.

100%. Project nothing but strength. Let Eddie deal with him.

Isak kind of forced the clubs hand to be fair. Once you are accused of so ething they needed to be firm and deny such an allegation if false.

Doesn't address the broken contract promise I suppose. But then if they have subsequently been offering him a new contract this summer then they can say they have fulfilled that promise also.

OK, fuck it. I intially wanted us to make a statement then thought that silence would be more a more profound message, but after reading that, nah, the statement was the right thing to do.

Isak, his agent and Romano will be furiously trying to pick apart the wording there and try and drag this down into a 'Facebook comment section war' but we've emphatically said everything that needs to be said there. Great job.

Could see both sides of release a statement and not, something as simple and straight to the point as this feels like it nips a lot in the bud for people including Isak and Liverpool who just don't get it - that they simply haven't met the conditions for a transfer

If we don't sign a striker we will need Isak. Even if we do we will likely need Isak (unless we sign 2 decent strikers). So for me it makes sense to channel our aggression and anger against Liverpool and the fact that they expect us to bawl over and just succumb to their "champion" status. Siege mentality, get at them, get amongst them, get into them and as you say Eddie will sort Isak from there.

Of all the people we should back it's Eddie  he's been superb from start to finish in his role and the way he's handled this situation has been exemplary thus far.

Love how his profile pic seems to be that cringe pouting James bond impression where he clearly thinks he looks great

Guy clearly loves himself quite a lot as can be seen by his selfie stick videos

It's also the hoovering of talent by the rich protected cartel clubs.

Watching Match of the day hit home. There was City after spending fortunes in January then buying £250m more of talent and so far not selling a yone for big money, just breezing through Wolves at will who of course were forced to sell their best player in the summer.

There are gonna be so many dull games because of this where the top 4 clubs just smash most of the bottom half teams with ease. Never understood why sky seem to drool at the prospect of this and try to get the best players to the top clubs. It's so much better for the "product" if the best players are spread amongst all the teams not just 4.

Does my head in. Anything sky is in favour of typically wont be what ordinary fans think and will be against the traditions of the game - from the cheerleaders and all that shite at the start right up to their shamelessly elitist stance today

The club rather beautifully including the supporters in their statement.

Yes, important note to hit that Mister Isak unfortunately missed.
