Okay from those comments it does sound like he's pissed off with the contract..perhaps we will give him a bumper contract and he can go at the end of the year for a fixed 120m fee?

 

I dont think he has ever hated playing for us and it sounds as if he was fully on bored with our project and that it really is about paying him what its worth. 

 

From those statements, I think he can be reintegrated. I dont begrudge him a big move - but not to a PL team and not this year. It was always next year in my opinion. And if we had paid him the next contract that may have been the case with all this...

That is a problem. Isak’s value to NUFC is bigger than Liverpool’s real need for him. That is why they dont pay up.

The pay rise with a release clause has always seemed the most logical resolution, although I do recall it being reported that that it had been offered at the start of this nonsense and rejected. Probably when it was up in the air if we would get Sesko or not so slightly different context.

Yeah like I say I don't agree with everything and that was one of the parts where I couldn't believe our people didn't say anything, but he's generally good value. U share his disdain for modern football (something you hear more of in other episodes with him on) and he's spot on about 'winning' the transfer window being a meaningless spectacle for the plastics

I watched the press conference, I came away from it feeling it’s more likely that Isak stays.

He didn’t confirm it but said they had discussions regarding his future. Assume it would have been on the condition someone pays the value and we get a replacement. Neither of those things have happened.
