Plus, Liverpool fans balking at 150mil is ironic given that they have set a stupid benchmark by paying 117 million for a PL-untested midfielder in this same window. All this talk about "they should sell for 130 because it will be a British record transfer" is just deliberate and mischievous framing.

All whilst jacking themselves silly still for ultimately getting the full 142 million for Coutinho eight years ago... which they achieved by telling Barcelona to fuck off for 6 straight months and strong arming the player to end his strike for the interim.

In the name of fairness I'm happy to take that deal, add 8 years of transfer market inflation and shake on it.

Liverpool fans on twitter having a go at Hughes/Edwards for their transfer window is pretty funny [emoji38]

No, I think they are spot on. They are probably just 1-2 injury away from having no hopes for any trophies this season, and seriously once Ekitike proved to be useful in EPL, why should they keep on playing with Isak and his agent? It’s the winger that they seriously lack of atm and to sign Isak for 130m + and then play him on the wing is fucking ridiculous.

I like how the Liverpool media echo chamber is now gaslighting us into thinking £110 million is a fair price.  Not when Jack Grealish and Declan Rice are £100 million pound players it’s not. They already paid £116 million this summer for a number 10

They want to sign one of the worlds top strikers, from a rival who are in the CL and who is contracted for another 3 years.  £110 million and we should be grateful? Fuck off, £150 million starting point.

I presume they get Guehi done but selling Diaz means they are still a forward short with all their eggs seemingly in the Isak basket.

Everyone knows Liverpool will be showered with free Saudi money for Mo Salah next summer, money unavailable to us because we can't sell there. Even 150M is nothing to them. This is probably why our owners, Saudis remember?, do not want to sell Isak on the cheap.

One of the benefits of having owners who aren’t interested in the money. Stick the boggle-eyed freak in the cupboard and hoy a dust sheet over him. As far as they’re concerned he can fuck off in 5 years for nowt.

And according to the latest from Romano, the power in this long-running saga still remains with Newcastle who despite all that has happened, expect Isak to return to training after tonight’s clash.

“The [match] between Newcastle and Liverpool is coming,” began Romano when speaking on his YouTube channel. “Obviously it’s going to be an important moment because it’s going to close this story between Newcastle and Liverpool and then from Tuesday we will understand more on the Isak story – whether he’s going to Liverpool or whether Newcastle are going to keep the player.

“Newcastle, internally, hope that this week after the game Isak can return to training. Newcastle really hope that.

“Internally they have this feeling that they want to convince Isak to be back in training after the game on Monday.

Scenes weds in training when Schar clothes lines him during the warm up & Lascelles big day splashes him in the mud

Yeah. When you really sit back and think about this whole thing and remove all the bluster and noise from the media it's really ridiculous.

For a good few months in the middle of the season last year he was the best striker on the planet. It is widely known that there are very few elite strikers around currently and coupled with the fact we have 3 years on his contract, have no replacement. The asking price should be £200m really. I mean that's fuck off money being quoted but effectively that was the message we were sending out this summer to rivals. Fuck off he's ours.

So for him to cause the drama and issues he has and for Liverpool to pretend to be an innocent party on all this and then think they could just lowball to get him for cheaper than a midfielder from the Bundesliga was just insulting.

Then everyone in the press saying we should just deal at a lower price because "you can't keep an unhappy player" etc. is exactly what they all wanted to happen. For us to no our place and make the situation so toxic that we financially and performatively fuck ourselves just to satisfy the desires of one player.

It shouldn't be allowed and fingers crossed we don't crumble at the last moment and give in to all the pressure.

We need to channel that anger about this whole situation into Liverpool tonight and show them we aren't just a small club to push around. We are every bit their rivals and can beat them on our day as proven in the cup final.

For all we know the real price was £200m, remember it was stated that it would take a bid of £150m just to get us to the table

Funniest thing about the climb down is that he’s likely to understand that we’ll now just pay him on his current deal until an inevitable sale next summer.  He’s absolutely blown his own feet off (as has his dipshit agent)

And the scousers’ reward for all of this will be to watch him sailing off to sunnier climes next season - there’s zero chance he goes to Liverpool now.  He’s professed in the past his desire to play for a big Spanish club - Liverpool would’ve been just another stepping stone

Just to add: I don’t think it’s an inevitable sale next summer. If he further escalates I could see PIF doing the same, not for sale at any price and let him rot another two years. They really can do it

Amen to that.
