It could of course be a calculated leak too.

What’s the calculation here, do you think? I can’t see what game we could be playing if we had chosen to leak that when it’s not true

Nah, sorry but I dont believe for one second, regardless of how he's acted and EH / the squad feeling, that we'd bring in and rely on Woltermade as our new striker, who isn't really an out and out striker, as well as new to the league, with Osula as the only other proper 'striker'.

No 'replacement' or 2nd forward in, and he MUST stay. Its negligant to still sell him and leave ourselves short up top till January, which is already a trickier market, never mind when clubs know you have up to £130m burning a hole in your pocket and potentially even more need up top.

:huff:

So if we bought JSL for £60m taking us upto £90m net spend would that mean the sale of Isak wouldn't actually give us much headroom given before the summer journos said we could spend around £100m?

I don’t think it is that straightforward, as we would be in a position where we would need to raise about £70 million on sales before July.

Surely if we were going to sell now the offer would have to be a stupid offer, no time for negotiations on a deal that size.

How often has the transfer record been smashed on the last day of the window when a club doesn't want to sell the player?

We sold Andy Carroll to the same club on deadline day afternoon. At the time it was the record for a British player, a Liverpool club record, and the eighth largest transfer in world history.

I think we will sell and i think we will bid a stupid amount for Wissa and sign him

Probably think something different when I wake up tomorrow. Roll on fucking tuesday. I can't be arsed with anymore of this bollocks

I know it's "just Luke", but the way his tune has changed the last day or so after being adamant we weren't selling, makes me think he's been told something.

Final stage of baiting the Liverpool fans. Get them to think it's close, get their hopes up, then he refers back to a tweet at the start of the window, where he said Isak would never move and that proves him right, baiting them further.

If the transfer window closes and our only strikers are an un-proven 23-year-old with one good top flight season behind him & William Osula I will seriously question what our ambitions actually are.

The money to an extent is neither here nor there, £130m, £150m, whatever, it's an opportunity to invest heavily into the squad. But to leave us so short up-front after what happened the last time we were in the Champions League is unforgivable m

Am I 26 hours away from a smug pic of him sipping red wine in his den?

All for selling the rat for 130+ if we manage to get a replacement in BUT I feel like it's very unlikely we will so he simply has to stay even if they did offer £150m. We've had a good window so far, would ruin all that good work if we sold him with no other striker signed on top of Woltemade

I think £130m has been the price all summer to be honest

Hope broke the original story. As well as the wissa interest and the woltemade story.

What the spaghetti junction stories with so many openings, where he changes his tune just about daily. Woltemade , bollocks it was already done before he reported on it. They all got caught out by that one. Hey if you want to believe him, you go for it means nothing to me if you do or don't. He still a bullshit reporter in my opinion
