SiLvOR
If I'm Isak, I'm questioning just how badly Liverpool actually want me. ONE derisory offer all summer. Waiting until the 11th hour to probably hoy another shit bid in. Does that scream "we're desperate to have you"? Just feel Isak has been terribly advised by his pig of an agent and it's just spiralled so far out of control now. Such a fucked situation

Im actually surprised at the reaction because id resigned myself to the probability ages ago. Hes put the club in an awful position. I was certain he was going. I’m certain we’ve already spent some of the Isak money in advance and I’m certain EH has made the decision to have him gone but I’m astounded if we don’t get a 2nd striker. The first 3 games alone prove we are fucked if Woltemade doesn’t hit the ground running or gets injured Edited August 31, 2025 by gdm
Displayname
Isn't it kinda obvious that they waited for us to get a replacement(s) before they came in with a new bid? Don't think that is something to complain about tbh.

NE27
Just don't flog him, even if you think 130m is reasonable the precedent is then set, act the cunt and the club will eventually fold.
KaKa
If we've made it known he can go now, I think that means we've found another striker we like and the deal is in place, but is contingent on Isak leaving, as we won't do any deals without the assurance of the money for Isak coming in. RobsonsWonderland
I think I've said it on here a few times but nothing would have made Isak happy to stay. He saw us a stepping stone to greater things. We could not match the speed of his rise. He just didn't need to be a dick about it

When he signed on to go there he knew he was getting himself into a try every trick in the book and sell your soul to get yourself to Liverpool. Last minute tactics to get as cheap a deal as possible will have been on the radar.. ..if the window shuts and he is still here. That could be another matter and he might get a wake up call. As of now I expect its pretty much "stick to the plan" and "trust the process".
duo
His article makes no sense - would be insane to leave us so short with CL football to play. PIF surely cannot be that stupid.

Ketsbaia
It'd be pathetic, it'd be weak, it'd be indefensible. Fully expecting tomorrow to be a turning point in the PIF ownership. Think they'll lose a chunk of fans if they cave in (especially without a replacement).
CallumG6
Sale of Isak and no replacement is a fucking horrible decision, no matter which way you paint it. Howe said post-match yesterday he’s not making the decision, this is completely on PIF and whatever route they take is a stark insight into their ambitions for the club. They’ve got an excellent chance here to upset the cartel apple cart and start asserting themselves. Or they buckle and look weak as piss.
TheBrownBottle
Sorry to bang on about everyone’s least favourite boring topic, but this is also driven by PSR. Without it, the club would have been able to offer Isak crazy money if they wanted him, or made the call to let him rot if not. PSR means you can’t leave your most expensive amortised contract just ticking over - he represents 10% of our annual amortisation fees alone.
oldtype
Edwards might as well be on N-O posting in this thread for all the insight he’s offering. Edited August 31, 2025 by oldtype
nufc4eva
Can't see us selling him unless we magic another striker up tomorrow. If he goes has to be above 130, not like we need to sell him so hope we don't just bow down to our cartel masters.
Magic Rat
So it's looking like Wissa throws his toys out of the pram and doesn't get his move - and rightly so, well done Brentford for sticking to what you think is right for Brentford. Newcastle should have withdrawn from that. Isak throws his toys out of the pram with added tantrum and sulking and it looks like he's getting his move. Well that will be a lesson for players everywhere, and especially those dealing with Newcastle (assuming it happens).
midds
Who the fuck do Liverpool think they are btw? It's 4.45pm on Xmas Eve and these cunts are trying to haggle a price on the bairn's presents having walked in at noon? Fuck. Clean. Off

PSR doesn't dictate that a player with 3 years on his contract has to go specifically to Liverpool specifically now for £20m under the asking price and potentially no replacement in place. I don’t see any scenario where that happens. “We are really missing our striker. “We hope to have our best player back, but unfortunately, this is a situation that neither I nor any other player can control.” - From our club captain Reintegration will only be hard/impossible for the most stubborn fans. Everyone else will recognize it's in everyones best interest to have Isak up and running for us asap, even if our feelings for him are past the point of ever appreciating him again.
