Yep. What £55m more than Nick W. Which we are likely to spend more than to get another striker in.

£140m fine. A little bend. But £25m discount? 3 years left on the contract? It’s weak. We’ve been cucked.

From my view this is a major blow to the strength of the project.

What project?

The richest most impotent owners is properly on brand for us.

I think the most frustrating thing for me is, we could have agreed on £130m a month ago. They were at £110m, we wanted £150m so realistically we were always going to meet in the middle. That would have given us more time to replace and would have removed this cloud over the club and we may well have more than 2 points to show for it.

Unsure why selling earlier would've changed anything.

Us selling Isak 6 weeks ago wouldn't have changed the Sesko outcome or suddenly softened Brentfords stance re: Wissa.

It's funny you say this because this is exactly what people thought about Isak before he decided to be a cunt and get his own way. And in his eyes he did the right thing and won.

Looking at him now, though, you can see the red flags. At no point did he own a house. At no point did his family come and join him here. At no point did he create a proper life here.

Look at Sandro. Married. Having his first kid. Gordon the same. Barnes the same. Etc. They’ve built their lives here.

In hindsight, it’s obvious that Isak was a cold character with nothing tying him to the city, culture etc.

Wonder what will happen to the fees we'll be looking at tomorrow??

as we discount our prize asset...

Couldn't have got this more wrong if they'd tried. We look thick as fuck and we're also short as the prices go up. They're fucking morons

Amortised fees to buy vs a PSR benefit of maybe 80m (can't be assed to calculate his current NBV).

Doesn't help us unless we actually sign anyone of course.

£25m discount to a supposed domestic rival, then going into the market on the last day with £130m in your pocket. It's breathtakingly braindead

If we're willing to sell at £125/130m, why didn't we just fucking negotiate that with them a month ago when they offered £110m. We could have had a replacement in for the start of the season.

Having Jamie Reuben effectively in charge probably isn't helping anything.

We all knew we'd be selling players this summer if we hadn't qualified for the CL and on an on-going basis because of PSR.

We know others clubs are in the same boat and that this isn't some PIF hoodwinking scam. Villa are in the same boat minus players going on strike. Its not McKeag revisited.

Surely we knew that whilst desireable Isak being left to rot was unprecedented and highly unlikely especially in a PSR climate. 120-140m or someone who may very well not play all year?

Nobody else wants or can afford him, we cant make clubs be interested and able to afford him and snatch him from Liverpool, whilst desireable.

We talk all the time about who PSR hinders and helps and what a crock of shit it is, with us being at the top of the list for clubs it holds back

Surely we knew were not competing with these clubs anytime soon because of that and most of us have agreed we've done great to get CL twice and win a cup given the circumstances.

We've been pipped to signings all summer by cartel clubs as if any evidence of any of that was needed.

I just don't get the hysterics as if all of this has just dropped now. other than it being 20m less than we wanted.

A previous poster is probably right, people need to move on to something else because Its not going to get better than you've had it these last few years unless the rules change. This is the limit for us and everybody else outside the top6.

Absolutely. This feels like raising the white flag to the breakaway clubs. An occasional top 5 and cup run will remain our ceiling.

City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arse, and Man U and Spurs when they recover (which they will) will have those top places to themselves permanently.

Unless someone does some magical editing, I'll never watch the cup win again.

Christ there's some overreactions, do people really think PIF no longer give a shit about us, because we've sold Isak for £130m.

Yes we haven't quite got the fee that been said we wanted, but it doesn't mean they chucked in all in ffs.

Wouldn’t be massively upset if Gordon did go tbh if the money is right

Yep.

100% captain hindsight here (and I defended it at the time due to Gordon's 23/24 season so can't hold a grudge) - but selling Gordon for 60 million and keeping Anderson would've been a good move.

It’s also sometimes the personality type that gets people to the top of a sport - we called him the ice man for a reason.  Completely self-absorbed and unsentimental.

Thank fuck Howe isn’t going to have to answer questions from the cunty press every time he speaks to them about the rat, and when he last spoke to them etc.

Im raging he and Liverpool have got what they want, but as long as we get a forward in later it’s the best move for the club imo.

My assumption is that we’ve decided to take what we can get because we have moves lined up for tomorrow. I’ll stay optimistic for the time being. If not then maybe I’ll surrender to PSR and watch baseball or some other nonsense instead.

Ashamed of the owners in a football sense now as well so at least there's that

I'll not believe a word that comes out their mouth again - selling our most expensive asset on the cheap isn't ambition.  And with no replacement as well.
