Trying to separate heart from head bearing in mind his behaviour, and for a player to appreciate +60m in 3 years, plus all the room to reinvest... and we're selling a twat not someone who wants to stay. It's be gutting if we had an offer 'too good to turn down' for Guimaraes or Tonali and they made it clear they're happy here but the club effectively booted them into a helicopter Carroll-style.

 

Anyway, I never thought Isak was that good? I think our new German lad will bring more to the team and be a much better fit tactically. We should hopefully see an increase in goals from midfield and out wide with his build up play and ball retention.

Posting this image in case anyone accuses the above of being copium. Wilson was clearly not a team player and was barely involved in buildup, but Isak's numbers are no better.

Isak dribbled past five or however many Everton players that time, but did it once in one game. He didn't dribble past very many in other games, or set others up, except when shots were coming back off the bar to Murphy.

How much of Woltemade have you seen to think he’ll improve upon 27 goals and 6 assists when we’ve failed to score in 6 out of 7 games without Isak?

 

I want Isak’s career to die when he puts on the Liverpool shirt but let’s not rewrite history and pretend he was a some decent - good 7/10 striker benefiting from the creative genius of Jacob Murphy.

That’s in large part the system. The system is designed to feed the main striker.

If we had a functioning transfer department, I'd have been interested to see whether interest could have been drummed up from the likes of Bayern and PSG.

If anyone had any intention whatsoever of paying over a hundred million for him they could have done so at any point after he stopped training with us.

Honestly, Liverpool, Isak and his agent knew something no one else did and I suspected it throughout this. How they knew i don't know though.

Giving him a new contract would’ve been the right thing to do. He would have less of a leg to stand on  if he had just signed a new contract 12 months ago.

Because transfers of this nature are planned well in advanced - even for the likes of Madrid and Bayern.

 

The common assumption was that he would make his move next summer, which for the club would've been optimal considering Lewandowski would be turning 38 and Kane would he approaching his mid 30s at a Bayern team looking to get younger.
