I actually don't feel anywhere near as bad as I thought I would

Maybe it's because I've been expecting this deal to happen so came to terms with it a while ago

I get the anger and how some people are feeling but for me it's quite simple, Newcastle United was there before Isak and it will be there after him

I'm not going to blame the club like I did when we sold Carroll to them. This is very different, this situation has been engineered by Liverpool, Isak and his agent from the start. And ultimately players do hold the main card, which is stepping on to that pitch.

His behaviour meant an exit was the right thing and exit this summer was the right thing. Yes, we could have held on for another 6/12 months but what would we have gained from that? An extra £15m/£20m? Which considering the distraction and the cloud that would followed through the season isn't worth that much

We have doubled our money on him, our PSR situation will be very healthy in the medium term, we can fully focus our energy on the players that are at the club (well, a little bit of energy on hate watching too).

We also know he's not the most robust, if he keeps picking up those niggles it may turn out to be a poor buy from Liverpool and suddenly the £130m will look even better.

Wasn't expecting to wake up to this.

If it is £125m, the only way I can see that being sanctioned is that Eddie and whoever else at the club, have seen his situation as a point of no return. Can imagine players even complaining just to get him gone.

Brentford or Wolves haven't caved under pressure, but they haven't had this complete bombardment of constant coverage from the media that we have with Isak. The players and Eddie are very headstrong, but it would no doubt mess with harmony at some point. I'm sure most will agree that harmony is something you cannot buy.

I've never wanted him to go from the start and all through the chaos, reluctantly accepting this in the hope we can move forward and really push on from here.

Well, this isn't the news I wanted/expected to wake up to. Thought it'd at least play out this morning.

£125m FFS.

Let's at least hope we have another forward deal on the way.

But, the precedent is set. Big club wants your player? Just tap them up, turn their head, and pkayer just downs tools. Job done.

Urgh. Might gan back to sleep. Maybe this is a dream/nightmare.

We were never going to get £150m. But I’m a little disappointed we didn’t hold out for the rumoured £130m that’s been mentioned more recently. £125 seems like we well and truly caved in UNLESS we have someone lined up and it was a case of just getting rid so he’s not stinking the place for a few months

I always had a feeling if this didn't go through and he was forced to stay, he would get injured and be out till January, at least this way we have a chance to replace him with a player that actually wants to be here.

He had to go, it wasn’t fair on Eddie or the team for him to stay. And although the fee should have been closer to £150 million, £130 is what, 3rd biggest fee of all time? As long as it’s spent wisely (which it will be) we’ll be better off without this rat.

You know what, same here.

At the moment I'm looking forward to seeing how we spend this windfall - obviously a quality striker is vital but it gives us more leeway than we've had in years for the windows ahead. We've shown we can spend well & now we'll have the funds to do it.

That assumes the player has the same lack of integrity and professionalism as shown here by Isak.

It sure would feel a little bit better if there was any evidence of a reasonable path to getting a quality striker before The Slammening. Maybe there’ll be a pleasant surprise in the next 12 and a half hours. But based on what we know, it’s hard to see that being a likely outcome.

£125m?!

Is this so that £135m can be promoted as some sort of win?

Shouldn't sell full stop. Terrible message for Sandro, Tino etc. Sport is fucked if we sell. Brentford have played it right (so far).

The club have clearly made a decision using their head and it's understandable

I totally get the emotional response of letting him rot, I definitely said the same and wanted that to happen but when you take a step back, selling just makes sense and is better for the club in the medium to long term

Holding on to him would have meant hat cloud hanging over, Eddie being asked in every presser, risking a major injury etc etc and that isn't the most sensible of move when we have the PSR constraints that we have

Many reports saying it's £130 million, not 125. I guess we will find out.

We need to learn from Liverpool though and try and get a similar setup in the board. They've been absolute cunts, but it's impressive how much they've completely shit on is this window.

We could never, our owners just aren't invested to that level. In football terms Liverpool is the apex for FSG meanwhile we are an after thought for PIF.

Hope you all are strapped in for when PIF return Liverpool money with interest for a washed Salah. You all are finding out huh.

I’m reading that he’s not taking the 5m loyalty bonus he was due from us. Deal effectively worth 115-120m with money Real Sociedad are due from sale
