Owen lost it when his hamstrings went wanky. The great strikers do it all their career. Once he lost his pace he was a shadow of his former self. Al adapted. So did Del Piero. Owen was like Jeffers, Fowler, Smith etc - passed 24 and went to shit.

Hoping Isak’s hamstrings snap more violently than a banjo string after 24 hours of non-stop lube free rutting.

Owen was still very good when we signed him. Metatarsal and knee injuries and he was done. He scored 7 in 10 games first half a season until injury at Spurs.

Yeah there's no way he was done by 24. Even his whole duration with us, when he was actually on the pitch he did produce other than the back end of the relegation season, by which point you could tell he was just shirking responsibility with an eye on his next move.

Admitting he was still a good player doesn't absolve him of being a wanky little piss streak though.

Owen was that world class sharp as a tack player we signed, up until that December injury which almost ruled him out of the world cup. We got half a season of value.

That Keegan 10 role was the only time he figured out a different way to play and add value - even when he left and went to Man U, Stoke etc he never delivered except the odd moment - e.g. winner against Man City, CL goal etc

Still have visions of him dragging his crippled ass to the sideline. Didn’t we get £6m payout for that?

Was class, somehow think I still hate that stupid snivelly little cunt more than I'll ever actually hate Isak. Owen is the most punchable face in football.

It's that cardboard monotone voice and vacant delivery of incomprehensible footballing monotony that really tops of the package. The absolute dullest of dulls, a vacuum of intelligence and joy. But aye, wouldn't tire of punching his stupid face.

Don't think Owen's glossy promotional brochure will ever be beaten. The brand values page has to be seen to be believed.

So many of those are miles from the truth and all.  Take 'cool' for example.

Was about to post something similar, so many "values" are demonstrable lies, fit & healthy, cool, committed, sincere.... come on :memelol:

As ridiculous as it is, it's definitely real.  If you do an internet search for "Michael Owen Brochure" then you'll be unfortunate enough to find the entire content of it.  Claiming that someone is "Devoted" in a brochure designed to get that person a move away from a club that they never really wanted to be at in the first place is some going.
