I’m pretty certain that we will offer him 200k+. They will know how vital he is for us if we aim to fight at the top end.

Only way we will sell him is if the price is beyond ridiculous and for the greater good. Depending on our FFP situation. Even then I think we don’t want to. Putting squad depth a side and the lack of quality there, we are only 3 players away from almost certainly competing for top 5 on a more consistent basis. (Cementing) Obviously need to add more quality in depth too with younger quality players.

Thats why I feel the club will break the bank for Isak and build around him, because we aren’t that far away from looking extremely strong. First team wise at least. So might not need/want to sell him for “the greater good”

What makes you certain of this? Why do you think we haven't we offered him that already?

I said why in my post. You should read it 👍

Because he still has a long contract. No rush from the club or Isak at this moment in time. It’s best for the club as well as Isak to to not rush it.  We don’t know what we’ve offered or not offered, if at all. I’m sure there’s been loose talks.

I never know how much players value things like signing for a club where they’ll win trophies and how much they value just being somewhere where they’re adored, comfortable and playing good football.

Guess ideally they want both, and it varies for each player. But it’s not like every good player in the world can sign for Real Madrid.

Right character, it carries a lot during their early to mid 20s. It's when Isak is around 28 he'll want to move to an elite side if he's at top of his game and we don't look like offering the major trophies.

I've got no concern on him leaving any time soon. Fully expect him to sign a new contract in summer that puts him close to £200k (with some bonuses) and if we don't bring the trophies by 2028, he'll be wanting a move and that's fair. Should be 2+1 left on his contract at that point, where if he's at top of his game, £80m fee would be fair and we've had like 5 seasons of his enjoyment.

Am sick of the press pushing Arsenal link - they've not won a title in 20+ years.  Give over man.

This. I think he’s very happy here. Living his best self currently under Eddie. Growing with the team and challenging on a few fronts. Lots to play for. We can strengthen more in the summer too.

As everyone is speculating, I’ll give it a try as well. Might have a different perspective as I’m not English.

I don’t see Isak leaving England anytime soon. He’s already played in Germany and Spain, and clearly his been the most happy in England. Of course he would smash it there now as well. But the style of play in PL suits him great, and he knows that.

Why would he want to go to France and spend his best years in a one club league? He’s too smart for that.

He has now finally proven himself, and gotten the appriciation here. I have a very hard time seeing him wanting to go back to Spain this summer.

Add to that the fact that the PL is by far the most popular league in Sweden, he’s been born and raised to think it’s the place to be. And it is the biggest scene.

Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal are the ”biggest” clubs for most Swedish kids as well. Don’t really think Man U is very alluring at this point though.

With that said, I actually think he’ll stay. He seems to like it and I think he values that more than some people think on here. Wouldn’t even be surprised to see one of the cup throphies and a top four finish for Newcastle already this season (bar injuries on Tonali or Isak).

He's already played in Spain.....but not for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

It is the arrogance to think they can just poach our best players like before. Newcastle are back as a force now and we are here to stay.

If we don’t get champions league I think it’s pretty likely that he’ll go (champions league, tilt at league title, massive wage increase) and we’ll completely revamp the side with the money moving forwards. If we get champions league no way he goes.
