mattypnufc Posted Saturday at 18:29 Share Posted Saturday at 18:29 Poor from him today. Didn’t put himself about. Offered very little. Was given very little in truth, but zero outlet for us.

Lush Vlad Posted Saturday at 18:32 Share Posted Saturday at 18:32 (edited) Feels strange to nitpick when they were all so bad. But in this mini run of below par form from him. I often notice he wants an extra touch or two. The chance to get a shot or pass off is then gone. Ends up losing it or misplacing a pass. I suppose the other side of that is. He has such great feet and dribbling ability that I half get why he sometimes wants the extra bit of time. I suspect that he'll hit form against Ipswitch.
Ankles Bennett Posted Saturday at 18:46 Share Posted Saturday at 18:46 Three games in 7 days undid us today and villa is our bogy ground.
andycap Posted Saturday at 18:52 Share Posted Saturday at 18:52 He's been patchy since the cup final with his performances. He's a bit like Murphy where within 10 minutes you know if there gonna be at it for the 90 or not.

Ikon Posted Saturday at 19:01 Share Posted Saturday at 19:01 I still maintain the idea that he would be at his best in a 4-2-3-1 . we almost always try and go wide. Would like us to have a Cunha type of player there between midfield and him.
Newcastle Fan Posted Saturday at 19:04 Share Posted Saturday at 19:04 I'm confident he's playing with a groin injury, has not looked himself lately but we don't really have anyone who can come in for him.

ToonAbroad Posted Saturday at 19:14 Share Posted Saturday at 19:14 Hopefully a week's rest will do him some good now, hasn't looked fully fit lately.
Dr.Spaceman Posted Saturday at 19:16 Share Posted Saturday at 19:16 He's easily the most affected when the team doesn't play well, that's for sure.
Andy Posted Saturday at 19:18 Share Posted Saturday at 19:18 He was poor, but he always looks poor when we get overran and are stretched. To be at his best, we need players in and around him, and the wingers running beyond him. We completely failed to do that today for the most part. midds Posted Saturday at 19:21 Share Posted Saturday at 19:21 Looks for all the world like we're just nursing him through to the end of the season, bringing him off as soon as games are decided one way or the other. It's probably a lot more common at this stage of the season than we think and I don't think we've got much choice atm. Just need to rest him and wrap him up and send him out against Ipswich, hopefully we can do a number on them and we can sub him to keep him fresh. We lose him to injury the task of CL gets twice as difficult

Adrian1881 Posted Saturday at 19:44 Share Posted Saturday at 19:44 It stinks that we don't have any replacement or partner for him...could have done better today - but we are here fighting for CL because of him.
