We do find conspiracies in every little thing though.

Even religious people are mostly competent at their full time job. Huge fuckups can happen, but to multiple people at the same time? How many VAR refs are there?

Their jobs usually don't require interpretation and judgment based on subtly changing rules. Refereeing competence has been questioned in every sport since there were professional leagues.

 

But honestly, people look for conspiracy under every rock when it is much more likely that we'll notice the incompetent performances, and completely forget about decent jobs. It's a relatively new technology added to a few rule changes. Wonder what the propensity for correct calls will be in five years time.

Because it's very tough going against teams that camp in and pack the box if you're not accustomed to doing so, was the same for us when we faced these setups.

 

Even with Maddison they are still struggling to open up a team with two less players.
