It's crazy how things can change so quickly. A few weeks ago when they went a goal up vs Chelsea, and seemingly had a second before Son's was ruled out, they were flying, looking like 29 points from 33, but suddenly lose that, lose Van de Ven and Maddison through injury, Romero and Udogie through suspension, lose their follow up match to Wolves, and pick up a few more injuries and suspensions in between.

They have taken the lead in the last three matches and look like losing all 3 and going from outside title challengers and clear top 4 faves (especially with no Europe / League Cup) to all of a sudden being in a 3 or 4 way battle for 4th at best.

You’ve just described “the Spurs way” or “things are going very Spursy”. Still think they’ll finish above us, mind.

Would be interested to see the % increase/difference in mins played for teams, as well as number of players out with injuries (obviously it’s hard to compare injuries), as compared to the same point last season

Doesn’t address everything, but a decent read.

Well I thought Spurs were nailed on top four…

3 rounds ago there were discussions about whether Tottenham could challenge for the league. Now they are not even top 4 anymore. But some people in here did point out that they were just a couple of injuries away from disaster.

Much like ourselves, Villa look very impressive on their own patch, but haven't been as convincing on the road. First half they were wide open and should have been a couple down.

The test for Emery will come when they hit a bad run of form. In previous gigs he's struggled to reverse a slump.

They have Man City and Arsenal back to back in a few weeks both at home, given how impressive their home form is, they could be some cracking games.

Interested to see how Villa do at home to the best teams as well , they have beaten us and Brighton in the winning run they are on but that's it, the rest of the wins have been games you would always expect them to win anyway .
